Occasional soccer watcher here. I see that almost all of Mexico's players play in the Liga MX. Are they just not good enough to play in Europe? If you were ranking the top 10 players in this game (or 5 to make it easier), what would that look like?

My guess is we look to be playing the counter with Dest and Yedlin on the wings. Hopefully Pulisic brought along the Tuchel tactics book on how that works because Gregg probably didn't come up with it himself.

We need someone in this young core group to become a thorn in Mexico's side. Only two players I can remember in the last 20 years that you could really count on in this rivalry to show up were Donovan and Bradley.

Also somewhat surprised to discover that Dempsey never scored against Mexico.

I've never understood why they never seem to want to make the switch to Europe. Chicharito is the only one who really pulled it off in recent memory as a world star.

If I had to rank them on current talent/career, its hard to say that other than Chucky Lozano and maybe Jesus Corona, the USA currently leads in that department. Pulisic, Reyna, McKennie, Dest are all playing on the top teams and seeing tons of minutes.

Problem is Mexico for whatever reason recently has a massive mental edge over us not to mention they are much better organized/coached. Our young core really needs to figure it out and put them in their place.
