What a gift. That's the one area where Dortmund need all the help they can get. Their backline (particularly their wings) are not that good.

I think they'd fall to 5-7 this year if they didn't have Haaland, although you could argue they'd play more cautiously if they didn't have him so it might not be as bad as I think.

They almost had 4-5 before that too

Dortmund will be fun to watch all season, but I agree their back line is going to be an Achilles heel.

Lewandowksi letting it leak out that he wants out of Bayern before he's 35. His contract currently goes to 2023 which is when he turns 35. Could be just a play to get a new contract, but with the way Bayern handles their finances, I doubt they'll give him an extension unless it's at a reduced rate from what he's making now.

Bayern has reportedly set his price at 100million euros. I doubt anything gets done this transfer period since we have no suitable back up and too late in the process to get in on a Striker during this transfer window. But I could absolutely see him moving out next summer.

I imagine a lot of the older players on Bayern feel weird having a coach who's their age or younger. Wasn't a problem at Leipzig cause they were dang near a U23 squad.

Makes me wonder how many matches between American coaches have occurred anywhere (meaningful) in Europe.

Jesse Marsch gets his first win in style as Leipzig roll Stuttgart 4-0. Szoboszlai bagged a double on his first start for the team.

I was also super impressed with him last week, when he's on the bench and the game is 0-1, and in the first hydration break, he was out there giving water and chatting tactics with guys on the field instead of sulking on the bench. Real good leadership and team-first attitude.

Weird, we got a Bundesliga match on network ABC and it doesn't feature Bayern, Dortmund, or Leipzig.

I trust the process. If there's anything Leipzig can hang their hat on, it's finding youngsters, developing them via more playing time than they'd get at a big club, and then selling them to the big clubs for a profit.

But yeah, typically they're finding bargains. This is unusual.

Confirmed at 16M EUR, not 20M. So it's the same fee that Leipzig got for Sabitzer. The two players also share the same agent
