With Falcao's loan fee + wages, Utd are reportedly on the hook for £24m. Wowzers. His wages are 10k higher p/w than Messi's

I agree that this has to indicate something regarding RVP's health.

I still don't think United are done today though. Obviously there's the Welbeck business to be sorted, but I can't fathom them not bringing in some defensive help.

Still less than Rooney's wage though

Where you getting that number from? Initially, 20 million loan fee was reported but most recent I saw was 6 million.

Welbeck off to Arsenal. Hate it. Should never sell to a team you need to beat for top 4.

Honestly pissed we are selling welbeck

I don't mind selling him, I just don't like selling him to a top 4 team.

Looks like Shaw and Herrera are back as well.

Jones pulled a hammy on England duty though.

Assuming still a back 3, Rojo, Smalling and ???

Jones hurt. Do you go Blackett or Evans. Evans has been dreadful. I think I take Blackett.

Blackett. I like the kid and he should only get better with more playing time. Honestly, I think he's been our best CB the first 3 games.

Woodward got on the phone today and let everyone know that the club is targeting 3rd this season and that he doesn't expect United to buy anyone in January. Either that or maybe he learned that when you tell everyone you have oodles of money to spend, they all rightly raise the price 50% on you when you come after one of their players.

I finally figured out van Gaal's 3-5-2 formation. 3 games, 5 signings & 2 points.

OK, I admit...that was actually pretty funny.

I'm still going to just crap all over the Arsenal thread at some point in the future because of it but it was pretty funny.

Apple really wants United fans to buy the new iPhone 6 Plus

I thought it was so United fans could fit all of these on the screen at once:

iPhone 6 Plus is not big enough for this...

I love the formation shift. Outside of the De Gea wtf moment, very exciting and solid first 45. I'm hoping Luke Shaw and Falcao come in in the second half to see what they can do.

Agreed. Also, Di Maria has amazing pace. Love watching him play. But, then again, it is QPR....
Skitch05

Agreed, it was just QPR, but at least they were able to break open a side that was just keeping 11 behind the ball. There were some defensive screw-ups that certainly would have led to goals against a team with any offensive pulse.

Di Maria was great and certainly was the MOTM. I thought Blind also played great as a holding mid. Always in good position and solid on the ball.

I think I would like to see a similar formation next week, except start Falcao in place of RvP. I also would like to see Rojo start in the middle two of the defense and Luke Shaw play at left back.

Again, just QPR, but definitely promising.

Agreed. Liked the 1st half.

I love Daley Blind in that position, we've needed that composure and the ability to make the correct passes for some time.

Very little to complain about today. Good game.
Dre_00

It's just QPR but it was also just Swansea, Burnley, MK Dons...

A step in the right direction but just a step. Need to build on this. Thankfully, the schedule is kind as we don't play a top 6 team till Everton till Oct 5th and don't play a top 4 till Chelsea on Oct 26th.

Also, kinda hilarious how after all the hand wringing and loud proclamations, we're exactly 1 point behind Liverpool and Arsenal with a better GD than each.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think that means that we are near their quality at the moment as they've each had a much tougher 4 games than United (both have played City for example), but it still illustrates that the first four games won't mean a whole hell of a lot if United continuously improve and play like the team they can given their manager and new talent.
Skitch05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
United have played Swansea, who is ahead of City in the table. Since we can make big proclamations after a handful of games, I'm going to go ahead and say that United have actually had the tougher slate of games.
Skitch05

Actually, nevermind, Liverpool have played Villa. Fail on my part.

Didn't catch the final transfers. I assumed Blind would get picked up by someone big after his performance in the World Cup. Enjoyed watching him last night play for his old National coach. (Had game DVR'ed). Now I'll be curious what position he will play for the Oranje during the next round of friendlies.

Ajax sells off another to bankroll their youth academy system. Blind has played for them since he was 10.

That Di Maria goal....wow.

OK first half, but Leicester are pushing United's defense. That needs to be cleaned up. The movement in the attack has been pretty great.

LC getting A LOT of help from Clattenberg!

First LC from from a cross when the ball was out of bounds.

Second goal came from a ghost penalty call.

Fourth goal after Mata gets shattered to a ground with a no call.

Fifth goal comes from a penalty when Blackett clearly wins the ball and gets a red card instead.

LC were allowed to be physical yet he called a foul when united were physical.

Pathetic!

Worst meltdown I've ever seen from a United side.

And yes, Clattenberg was big for Leicester today, but Leicester played this game perfectly .

If you give up 4 goals in one half....you can't blame the ref, even if he was bad. That was just an absolute collapse by United.
