Dr. Howard Hesby died yesterday as he was getting ready to leave for a conference (heart attack). He was one of my best professors while I was at A&M (Animal Science) and I know this was not an uncommon feeling among students in his classes.

He will be missed.

He cared more about students than anyone I'd ever met before. He was a true embodyment of aggie spirit.

He has always been a favorite among the football players majoring in AgD. He always made sure they got to handle the livestock he brought in to his ANSC 107 class. He was a wonderful man and a great professor. He was genuinely interested in the current and future successes of his students. My prayers are with his family.

Although I didn't know Dr. Hesby personally, I had his 107 class as a fish. What a passionate guy, who got excited about teaching. What a Legacy he leaves at A&M. There should be a building named after him.

H squared will be greatly missed. He was the first professor that I had at A&M. Also went on a trip over Spring Break to DC and he was one of the superving profs. Excellent man with tremendous character. Truly a sad day. He will be missed....

Dr. Hesby was truly a great prof and even a better man. I went on a Spring Break trip for class credit to Cali with him and about 20 other Ags. He wanted to make sure everyone could afford it, so we stayed at some 1 and 2 star hotels, and rented town cars, which were less expensive than renting a bus.
Also anyone that took his BBQ/interviewing class, can probably owe Dr. Hesby a huge thanks for the interviewing and recruiting advice he gave, and he was always helping Ags land jobs.

Sad news, what a nice guy. Really did care about his students. Old school guy who loved A&M. He will be missed by the department and the University.

he really was a nice guy. i had a tough time at first in his class because i don't know the first thing about animals, being from chicago and all. but i learned a lot and did well in the class. my grandmother works for the school and she knew him pretty well.
