There is no place for this music to be tuned in. We are at a football game not a concert. This is disgraceful and distracting the fans, the players, the coaches, and the yell leaders.

Anyone who doesn't believe that DJs suck the life out of sporting events should watch one inning of the Braves v Dodgers game right now.
Compare it to a Braves playoff game ten years ago.
Crying about it is not going to change anything. Players want it, students want it. That's really all that matters

Nonsense
Players may want it on entry, but they aren't paying attention after kickoff.
And after the win last Saturday, the players were celebrating with the Band, not the DJ

So, you agree they listen up to kickoff…..but not after?
I also don't understand the constant complaining about it, they aren't going to get rid of it. Complain about defensive adjustments and run fitsCanyonAg77 said:

No one is complaining about the music. The FTAB is great. It's the noise from the DJ that's the problem.
Pretty sure you are complaining about the music the DJ spins…Martin Cash said:BraxtonW said:

There needs to be some balance and the volume needs to come down. It should not be so loud that little kids need hunting earmuffs and alumni cannot talk to the people around them.
Most importantly though it should not draw any energy towards it and away from the game. The student body is not half as engaged in the game as they were just a few years ago. Not even close and it is easy to see why. The DJ sucks energy towards it and away from the field. I want the 12th man back. The ones that threw every ounce of energy they had at the opposing team for the benefit of their own. And it is not like that anymore. Now half of the students sing 10 second song with some random AI beat, are quiet when the ball is snapped, and don't do or probably even know the yells(mostly because they don't really do them anymore). This is a relatively new thing too- just in the last few years.
I can handle the DJ. You would probably be surprised at how much us old 40+ something like and listen to music and at the volume that we do it. But Kyle Field should be a family friendly atmosphere with a sole focus of beating the team on the other side of the field. If you want a DJ to play a few songs in the dead times, ok. That space used to be full of Redfield meat commercials. But turn it down so we can talk and stop when the game is on.
Last-stop worrying about what other schools do. We used to be proud of being different. Then somewhere we decided we had to be like everyone else. I don't care that other schools do it(most are not nearly as bad).
just don't take away my party till we die song on opening kickagsalaska said:

Other than "You Never Even Call Me By My Name." he doesn't play any 'music.'

Just because it's not your cup of tea for music, doesn't mean it's not music.

There are various earplugs made for concerts and social events that reduce noise levels while keeping most of the clarity. Haven't used any yet, but have thought about it for some sections at Kyle that have speakers nearby

I'm good with the lights and fireworks. Those are fine.
And as for your kickoff song, that's a sore spot because the Gig 'em Aggies yell on the kickoff was awesome. So if you get that you have to give up quite a lot actually.
