Ya'll posting that"Elko needs to go" are trolling or just plain stupid... He's the real deal and I'm glad he was extended.

I do think that no matter how much integrity you have (and I do think Klein does), it is just not possible to be a coordinator or head coach that has signed with a new school to continue to pour everything into the previous school - just not human nature. Sign with the new school, head on over and get started - no hard feelings. Any good team will be poached for coaches...

Great season - super disappointed ending - that's sports (cue the Antetokounmpo presser).. I'm pissed and frustrated as well, but damn - what a great season.

Reed is clearly not a championship caliber QB. Bail on him and bring in a new transfer QB. If not then Elko will get run off in 2-3 yrs.

It was a good season. Elko should definitely not be fired, but the extension is more stupidity from Aggie leadership. Extending 6 years at $11 million per year after going 9-0 against a very soft schedule was the same type of Aggie stupidity that led to the Jimbo contract. If Elko had done something special this year, then give him an extension at the end of the year. This year was not special. Good, but not special. Definitely NOT contract extension worthy given the competition we played this year. One win (and an extremely close one) against a good team.

This is the problem, a CFB appearance doesn't mean **** when you manage three points at home and lose like today. Elko is average, the team is slightly above average but will drop back into mediocrity after the attrition this year. Nothing has changed at Texas Average & Mediocrity.

I hope Elko is for real. Next year will tell.

We're going to find out if Wiggy can do something new or if it's more of the same. We're also going to find out if we can keep getting portal stars. (or if that was Klein)

When he was hired, I said Elko wasn't the guy and that I wanted to be wrong. I still think that.

Giving more to Elko is better than starting a coaching search in one of the most active coaching markets in a long time. Did we really want to go search for a coach when LSU, Ole Miss, Michigan, Penn State, and others are trying to money-whip coaches?

Think he's the right coach but really needs a better OC and QB whisperer (and now OL and DL next year as we will regress with all the departing experience). Maybe a new ST coach too.

My only ask is that he just needs to stop lecturing the media and Ag fans about BAS until he wins the real big games in Nov and Dec to close out years (he has missed in his 1st 2 seasons). He's now added to the past BAS with the last 2 years 'endings' in Nov/Dec. 11 wins was an improvement, but it upped the expectations and the team looked tight (esp MR).

I get it...trying to change the culture, but quit telling everyone and prove it on the field and missed that oppty in the tu game (as that loss was the eff up of the year, but signs were there many times this year with run defense misfitting and not setting the edge and MR still learning how to play QB).

Do think we had many injuries today that hurt the in the 4th qtr (esp Moss, Owens, Regis, KC wasn't 100%, etc).

Elko isn't going even if he needs to. But we haven't played a good game in 3 tries since we gave him the new deal. A loss today could have been tolerated except we played the worst game offensively in the entire year. Poor preparation and poor performance. More is expected in win or go home games.

had a good game against Notre dame who is a top 20 team. We didn't beat anyone else. I love Elko hope he succeeds, but he hasn't proven anything yet

Devil's advocate, he did great in the SEC. Realist, he failed against tu and Miami. I'm not sure if I'm happy we beat teams we should but failed at the end against teams who mattered.

o don't think they had much of a choice with the coaching carousel this year.

Normal years, an extension wouldn't have happened.

that's why I think he could be the answer, I mean he beat the teams he should of beat (besides Texas). But when oooking at his resume, what stands out. A win against Notre dame to start the season?

The truth is he's unproven, hasn't proved anything yet. I will say he has changed the culture for better 100 percent
