OH, how soon we forget!!!!! I remember about mid season when many called for Reed to get the Heisman, a shoe in, had it in the bag. I was laughing then and I'm laughing now!!!

If you can stomach it watch the last play. There was nobody open. But, all the action is to the middle or right side. Reed had a very easy TD with his legs. Somewhere along the way someone decided he was a better pocket passer than a runner. Go look at our pass attempts vs rushing attempts per game. The passing attempts went up vs the rush the last few games of the season, and our offense sucked. Georgia and Ohio state are happy wearing you down with 3-4 yards per rush. We seem to panic

QB is the only position that passes the ball. Great QB's have to be good accurate passers. If they also have wheels that is a big plus. A great runner that is not an accurate passer will never be a great qb. Reed's accuracy is not going to improve at this point.

Reed pooped the bed in the 2 most important games of his life.
Our own coaches didn't trust him, that's why our offensive game plan in the 1st half was WR screens and passes to the flat. When we had to throw over the middle, Reed threw 2 picks.

Will be interesting to see if Miles O'Neill and Brady Hart stay.

I fear that you are correct on this. It could result in Elko having the same tenure as Jimbo. 1 high water year followed by mediocrity and then worse.

Our problems didn't just show up for the first time yesterday ! We knew we didn't have a kicker who could be counted on to make field goals. We knew we didn't have a QB that could hit anyone running a reasonable route. Yada, yada, yada....... If Elko was actually smart, why didn't he fix those problems during the season ? They've certainly been evident many weeks ago.

Once again, if you hire mediocre coaches (i.e., Elko, Klein, now Wiggins) then expect to continue our crusade to mediocrity. We just put year 86 of mediocrity in the books, and unfortunately 2026 will be year 87 !

If the guys were open and Marcel didn't deliver the rock, thats not a bad play call.

Trust me, I wasn't one of em. I've said he's been a problem since the Auburn game.

Not calling design runs from 2nd and goal from the 5 is on the play caller.

Reed has plenty of heart, but he can't back it up otherwise sadly. Kleins ****ty playcalling did him no favors either.

Worse is calling a route combo that clogged the middle of the field, against a big and fast defense, for a qb who isn't particularly tall, and has shown an affinity for throwing endzone picks.

Reed gets too wound up in big games.

I understand this is the "blame it on Reed" thread…but his so-called OC misused him all year and made bonehead calls time and time again. Last two games it really showed out, never put him in a position to be successful. Not a Reed apologist, but our offensive output in last two games is on Klein. Oh yeah, and an OL that protected him would've been a plus…7 sacks yesterday…abysmal.

An OL that blocked would've helped him "amp down."

Hard to imagine he hasn't hit the ceiling with the number of high passes he makes.

It's not his ceiling that's a problem. At his best this year he was pretty good. It's his floor that's a concern, it can be pretty low.

The coaches should have had Reed running way more. If they didn't want our QB to run but rather to establish a passing game, O'Neill is a better passer. Jacob Zeno probably is too. I take comfort in knowing Helaman Casuga is on the way and will be here in January.
