lol this ain't kid s'it anymore. They are paid to perform. Marcel is paid to perform. We pay top dollar, he IS NOT a top dollar performer.
If you feel this strongly that employees should get paid top dollar and give these kind of results, I feel for your employer.

We had two outstanding receivers this year. They made Marcel look much better than he really is. The YAC was through the roof. Take that away and it ain't pretty.

Not sure why the "Marcel needs to run more" / "Klein's offense requires a heavy dose of QB run" crowd thinks those things.

60-70 QB rushing yards is a good single-game amount imo. Seems like our offense is equally dysfunctional whether Reed is running or not

I don't think a pregame beer and blunt is what Reed really needs.

The part that makes me crazy is throwing picks in the endzone----Elite QBs just don't do it, especially when the game is on the line.

When we had 33 seconds and zero timeouts, 1st and goal from the 5, if we had run the ball, not made it to the endzone and been tackled inbounds massive amounts of time would have come off the clock. Additionally, we'd have to waste a down spiking the football to prevent all the time running off the clock.

I wouldn't have minded a rollout with run/pass option. However, if Reed chooses to run he has to get the endzone or out of bounds and under no circumstances take a sack.

If we had even one more timeout then the calculus changes dramatically but we didn't so pass it was because an incompletion was an acceptable outcome.

Reed then made the other mistake of trying to play hero ball and fit the pass into an impossibly tight window. He should have thrown it away and played fourth down.

We are all well aware of the time/clock situation.
Doesn't change my argument that we should have attempted at least one run with Marcel.

He knows that Marcel wasn't getting it done as the qb against a good team.

Pretty much any portal QB would be as good as Marcel. He cost us two games this year.

As much as I don't like this guy's whole copying Mahomes's look and style, I think going after Raiola would be a solid get if it was even possible.

Granted it would end up looking bad if we did/didn't land him, but he navigates the pocket well, his footwork is great, arm angles great, composure is solid, arm strength is great, and accuracy downfield is better than Marcel's.

I don't think we will end up with a serious contender to Marcel in the portal. The amount of media coverage and questions would bombard the poor kid and just wouldn't go well.

I would say Marcel needs a real QB Coach in the offseason but he is training with Jeff Christensen. For some reason Ty Simpson, Drew Mastemaker, and Haynes King all had career years. Maybe Marcel needs another year under his belt which is likely to happen, but man he's got to get his footwork and awareness straightened out.

I'm looking at his mechanics and potential. He just looks more solid throwing and confident decisions. Put him with our skill group and O line from this year and I'm pretty sure he'd look better than he did at Nebraska.
