Yeah, all of these high end recruits just automatically start playing great together. All of these top 5 recruiting classes translate to conference championships, playoff berths, and national championships regardless of the coach, right?

Some really stupid sh*t being spewed here

Jimbo and his #1 class and $75M says hello...

Exactly. And let's not forget about Sumlin. The buyout nowhere close but WRTS, right?

He's at cedar hill right when the demographics change and talent begins to roll in - rides that success to Baylor - his hire screams someone else is operating in the shadows and he allows that to happen

1. Multiple state championships.
2. Baylor's last good season was the last season he was there.
3. Turned a sub .500 Tech team into an 8 game winner his first year, and has had a winning season every year both overall and conference (first winning conference season since 2009).

Yeah, it's all just luck and good timing. Must be the luckiest SOB to ever coach football.

We did RTS for a while.
Nobody minded all that swagger crap at the time.
Didn't last as long as anyone would like, but it happened. Wasn't the first time, won't be the last time.. it's cyclical, for everyone.

Narratives and perspectives change if we'd been able to play some of the in-state schools as OOC games during those years, and even those peak Jimbo years….but we didn't, so it's all just hypotheticals.
In those same windows, both t.u. and Tceh were in pretty dark places

some folks are hot and roll with it - others can't get the same breaks or timing is just off in life

how many folks attribute Sumlin's success early on in his head coaching career to a specific QB?

He's a sip fan troll who went to A&M, loves his longhorns on a sip radio show. Have heard him malign and disrespect A&M for years much to the joy of his sip audience. Dude uses Texags to get material for his radio show. Ignore him.
