and Domingo Bryant's 1984 blocked field goal vs the sips in Austin might have saved Jackie's job and turned the tide for the entire program for the next 10+ years.

No, and it didn't win the game.

It tied the game. Splitting hairs but I think that's where the poster was going. Interesting take

Correct, it tied the game. And it is not splitting hairs. Ask the ND holder and fans if it is splitting hairs…

No replay so it stands and it's our last conference championship.

it's interesting...the program has won 12 or 13 overtime games

but perhaps only the 1998 title game ended with a final play TD pass

the majority ended with the defense on the field or a short TD run

2018 LSU ended with a pass

If this team makes the playoffs, the importance of the play significantly increases.

This right here. If this game springboards us to a 10+ win season this will be the key moment. If however we relapse and lose 4 games with no playoffs it will be just a fun highlight.

It was amazing. It's not necessary to rank everything.

It was a great play but not the greatest. Edd Hargett's run to beat tech was what came to my mind.

After the last two decades beating ND at their place when they were ranked 8 is pretty special. Trying to downplay it is silly.

I agree with Looch that it is top 3 to end a game... 1) Sirr in 98, 2) Everett INT to secure Bama, 3) 4th and Goal ND win.

This isn't in the top 10, but it is one of the most memorable for me, as I was standing in the 3rd deck right even with the goal posts. Watching that thing in the air for what seemed like a lifetime, knowing it was dropping right at the crossbar....

Giving away my age here, but I enjoyed Reggie's perfect shot to Greg Porter in the back of the north end zone to score just before halftime against OU in 2002. That's the moment you felt something was happening.

This was an underrated but MAJOR play. We really had a tough time against SMU in the early to mid 80s, and Eric Franklin was having a rough year. When the game came down to a last second field goal we all held our breath, and his wounded duck of a kick barely made it over. But it was enough.
This win jump started the rest of the season to an incredible finish, but it doesn't happen without this FG.

I was at that '62 SMU game with my Dad and Grandfather in the north end zone. We wanted to leave but my Dad and Grandfather said we never leave until the game is over. We were rewarded with a truly memorable moment, watching that return unfold then the Corps storming the field

Kauffman didn't run the ball. He threw a pass to Dude McLean who made the touchdown.

2002 vs Oklahoma.

Reggie to Porter right before the half.

Ed Hargett/Bob Long & Lex James/Hugh McLeroy say hello what about us!!

Ed Hargett 80 yard TD pass in 4th quarter to beat tu in 1967 for SWC title and trip to the Cotton Bowl for the win over 'Bama.

Hugh McLeroy game winning last minute touchdown reception from Lex James to beat LSU in Baton Rouge in 1970

There are others as well in 1971 to upset 13th ranked Arkansas on the road and the win over tu in 1975 plus
4th quarter 50 yd plus squeeker field goal to beat the high powered SMU in 1985

List goes on.

Name 10 better.

It was 4th and 12 on the road against the #8 team in the country who also happened to be the national runner up the previous season. Score a TD or lose. Not only was the play spectacular but it's what it represented for the program and fanbase. Most Aggie teams of the past 30 years would have pissed down their legs in that situation.
Kick off return called back on a BS flag. Two false starts. We overcame it all.
This feels different. It feels like Jackie and Childress beating TCU in '84.
Time will tell if I'm right or just clinging to hope but something is palpable.

Don't diminish this play.

I was getting ready to post that.

Ran into Greg once, circa 2004 or 5. Said he didn't think Reggie even saw him, just figured either he or someone was down there.

I do t know about that but it was elite level QB play. All those saying Reed isnt good should watch that again from as many angles possible and in slow motion. That was elite level play.
Nothing looks more foolish than tradition to those who have none.

The Deception part of this makes no senses. Why would you tip off the opposing coach?

Coaches regularly brief officials on a trick play they are going to run to avoid confusion and an inadvertent whistle which would end the play, but why would you involve the opposing coach?!?!?!
