Ewers is the better QB right now but his ceiling will not win them the title. Manning has a higher upside and can win them the title although not as good running the offense.

If Ewers stop making bonehead plays, they can win the title but history tells me that he makes way too many bonehead plays.

Manning's Upside is a solid to Pro bowl NFL starter. Ewers upside is a 10 year back up.

tu fan base is massively entitled and probably think Ewers is why they didn't win the natty last year. 2 losses against Georgia ( the only really good team they played ) means they probably won't win the natty this year.

So the tu fans do not have Ewers back and for the rest of foitball fans in general there's lots to dislike
IIRC he was intentionally started late in Kindergarten so when he got to HS he would the oldest / most mature young man on the team. His HS stats are impressive but like Murray some of Us old fat guys could have probably played QB for that team and won a lot of games that squad was stacked.

He skipped his sr year because he was making too much money as an influencer enrolled early at tOSU .

Because it's not. Just like all the outcry here for our backups to play for players that never see the field for good reason that get outcry to play.

There's a reason why he only ran the ball when they brought him into important games.

He stated "he WILL be". Does not mean Arch is better than Ewers right now, hence the reason why he's second string. By the end of his college career, he will be one of the best.

But how do you know? You say he's not necessarily better NOW and then say he WILL be better. What evidence do you have to back that up?

From what I can tell (correct me if I'm wrong) but he's started ONE game the last two years. He played well, but it was against Miss. State and you and I could have platooned and done close to what he did. Miss. State doesn't know a nose guard from a nose job.

So you're either saying he could be better if he'd play more NOW (which isn't true, at least not according to the t.u. coaches) or he's going to be better with age -- i.e. next year. I think you need to back that up.

Ewers is the better quarterback now. He has the experience. Evidence - he's gone into hostile territory and won (Alabama, Michagen, Texas A&M). His overall record speaks for itself (23-3 I think). He might not look pretty but he gets the job done. For these reasons alone, Ewers is the better qb at this point.

As others have stated in this thread, he will end up being better than Ewers. No evidence, just my opinion.
