How long do you want to ignore this user?
I posted this on another thread. Sorry for the repeat. The Ewers situation is baffling. He threw for 385 against a stout Georgia defense (yes, he had 2 picks). Yes he makes bonehead mistakes but what QB doesn't. He took them to the playoffs last year. I think his overall record at Texas is like 23-4. If Texas doesn't watch out, they could have another Garret Gilbert situation. Everybody is attracted to the Manning name.

He'll make more playing CFB than he ever will in the NFL
Doubtful. If he just makes 2M a year as a backup and has a 10 year career he'll make way more, He may never get a big pay day but he's smart enough to make a bacup role for a long time. You get an NFL pension too if you get enough years. Backup role would be awesome. Make good money, retire at 35 with a pension, and still have your brain cells left.

I'm not saying the rumor isn't true, because college football has changed so much the last couple of years, but it seems great to me that Texas would make the playoff in consecutive years and not want to keep the QB who got them there. I think it's much more likely Ewers stays at Texas and Arch transfers.
I live around some really big Texas donors. Ther mood seems to support going with Arch. It will be interesting to see how this rolls out.

He should go to ND or Oregon b/c he hurt his draft stock this year (just like the QB at Georgia). If he can pocket $3million or more to play for one of those programs then he has a better chance at getting drafted higher next year than this year.

Just saw an article that states Ewers is going to declare for the draft.

This draft is light on QBs and there's a number of teams who need them. Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are the only 2 QB's guaranteed to go in the first round this year. Carson Beck is probably going back to UGA because he's regressed this year.

Teams in need of a QB that could potentially draft one in the first round:
Raiders
Giants
Jets
Browns

I also think coming back puts him at risk of playing behind Manning if there's any hiccups. If he comes back Manning could look elsewhere, I don't think they're both on the team next year. Manning is draft eligible after next season, I don't see him sitting another season.

He won't finish the playoffs and probably get replace in game 1. Total dud.

He should take the deal

Don't think he's an NFL QB
After watching his throws against us and Georgia in game 2, he's the most impressive QB I've seen this year.

He's wildly inconsistent and fragile. He's slow to make reads and needs time behind a strong line to be effective. Without a consistent running game, he also falls apart when he has to shoulder the offense.

NFL coaches can fix these flaws, just ask them.

Quinn Ewers is likely making way more money as a college athlete earning NIL dollars than he will in the NFL where he will likely be a backup QB. He should play one more year of college football to keep cashing in before going full-blown pro in the NFL.

It's time for him to move on I think tu has 2 very winnable playoff games before they see the ducks , buckeyes or Vols in the semis ( I think tu loses to all 3 )

He will get drafted he will make a team coming out of camp time to go be a professional football player and see just how good he can be

If Ewers stays at Texas, I highly doubt Arch stays as well. Can't ask a 5 star to sit the bench 3 years in the portal era.

I'd imagine Ewers transfers out and a place like Oregon or Michigan would be perfect for him

I think he'll have an NFL career as a backup QB somewhere. He's very smart with a great arm. So, I think he does something similar to Colt McCoy - makes a ton of money as a journeyman backup, occasionally getting into games and retire at 35.

Pretty decent life if you ask me.

I thought the Georgia game was his best since Florida. He made good throws all night. 3rd and 15 deep out. for like 50. Kirby jumping up and down. It was funny. He hit Golden in the end zone right on the money but Golden couldn't make the catch. Every time they got into the red zone they got a 10 or 15 yd penalty and those are just hard to over come. The bad pass was the 2nd int, but again it was 3rd and 15 because they couldn't run the ball. How many teams have success on 3rd and 15 against Georgia?. I do think his mobility hinders him. I'd disagree he's slow to make reads. I think his biggest problem making a pro team is standing in the pocket and delivering the ball when you know you're going to take a hit. It's a must in the pros and I've rarely seen him do it. He also gets too many balls tipped at the line. That 3/4 throw makes him shorter than he already is. I think he's a career backup but he'll get drafted and make a team. I'm still not sure Arch isn't better right now though. Everything I've seen, Arch is the real deal. Course he hasn't played a 12 game schedule yet either. Time will tell.

Most of them have him late 2nd day in the 3rd which is about right for a projected backup. He and Beck are about the same. I'm not sure another year of college is going to change that much one way or another.

Yeah I'm not sure having a better season somewhere else with a team that also has all the advantages in CFB is going to convince a GM that he's a different player than what he's shown thus far, unless he goes injury free.

If you're an NFL team he's exactly the kind of player you take a flyer on in the 3rd or 4th round if he's there.

Quinn Ewers seems fragile and has missed at least 2 games in each of his 3 years at Texas. I think Ewers will be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round.

I think he goes to either OSU or Oregon for a rent a QB year. I think it would be better for him than going to the NFL

The Manning nephew playing qb next year at tu will be a downgrade from what Ewers accomplished this year. Fact is neither is an NFL QB and Mannings running won't be nearly as effective if it's the primary offense. Maybe they can adjust the offense but he is no Lamar Jackson or JFF when it comes to running.

Playing at Georgia and at Florida and opening at Ohio state will lead to the 6-6 team many thought would happen. Ou and the Texas Aggies owe them a loss as well. It should be fun.

Ewers could retire already if he had mad money management skills. He has already brought in a minimum of $6M!

He should stay another year. NFL isn't his future. But he will be a longer term journeyman. But he will die in the NFL no different from Mond. In fact, I would argue Mond has upside to him. Ewers is SLOW and the worse QB athlete I have seen playing for Texas. Luckily, he is smarter than most and that has helped him.

World of NIL transformed his world. Cause that kid isnt doing a thing in the NFL.

If you are saying that Arch is a downgrade to Ewers, you know ZERO and I mean ZERO about football.

As much as I hate to say it, I think Arch will be one of the horns best QBs of the modern era. Luckily he only plays for 2 yrs. 2025 and 2026. If that.

With how well he throws the ball I think he could develop into a great NFL starter.

Ewers is an evaluation nightmare for nfl scouts. Sometimes he looks heisman-esque, sometimes like a freshman. He'll get drafted in the first few rounds
