There are rumors he might want to return to CFB next yr instead of going to the NFL. Wonder if there is any truth behind it. I assume he would transfer as I think tu is probably ready for Arch.

Supposedly he has a $4 million offer from a Big10 school to go there and play instead of going to the draft. Not sure how true it is. The theory is Oregon.

He should take the deal

Don't think he's an NFL QB

I think he'll have an NFL career as a backup QB somewhere. He's very smart with a great arm. So, I think he does something similar to Colt McCoy - makes a ton of money as a journeyman backup, occasionally getting into games and retire at 35.

Pretty decent life if you ask me.

Possibly he's trying to gain leverage on where he ends up,
Not sure how declaring for the draft works but if he has a big NIL deal; he could possibly Tell certain teams with high draft choices he will not play for them and to not draft him or he'd stay in College one more year

Imagine if JFF could have had the option to make big NIL money to play one more year. Probably would not have ended up at the browns

He doesn't really have that leverage. You are either in draft or not. You can't wait to see where you get picked then return to school if you don't like it.

I'd guess the story is fake news. Ewers is coming out

Lots of rumors he'll be on the move for more money as tu backers say it's Manning's time next year (to ensure Manning doesn't leave).

While Oregon 'sorta' makes sense (esp being money whipped), Ewers really not the type of QB they want. While Ewers can throw it, esp. in a quick passing offense, his mobility isn't in the Lanning mold (look at Dillon G). To me, Oregon should be chasing M Murphy or MS St kid (Van Buren?), but maybe they want passing capabilities proven 1st and 'complementary' running capabilities (that's the correct word before some don't digest properly ).

If USCe can get Sellers to be a better passer, his upside is sky high in the college game (as impossible to tackle apparently). Think Van Buren can be another version, but who knows.

I'm not saying the rumor isn't true, because college football has changed so much the last couple of years, but it seems great to me that Texas would make the playoff in consecutive years and not want to keep the QB who got them there. I think it's much more likely Ewers stays at Texas and Arch transfers.

What's most likely is Ewers goes to nfl & manning stays

Everything I've heard from some sip donors is that it's supposed to be Manning's team next year. What Ewers decides to do won't change that. He either goes pro or transfers.

I think it was this year(maybe last) that Chase Daniel was not on an NFL roster since he left Mizzou.

Ewers is somewhat of an enigma. When he is on, he can make all the throws and looks like a top 5 pick. But just makes too many baffling or careless decisions. Sometimes I would swear he must be high while playing.

He singlehandedly kept us in the game. They easily should have won like 30-0. But Ewers turns it over twice in the red zone including a pick 6. And there should have been another turnover in the red zone (Lee) and another pick 6 (Anderson) but both were dropped.

But some NFL GM like Jerry Jones will draft him in the first round. But I think they will come to regret it due to him being turnover prone, not being mobile enough, and not having quite the arm strength to be elite in the NFL.

I believe this. I'm sure he's not being pushed out, but definitely feeling the squeeze to find a home next season outside of Austin. Would really love him to sit out the playoffs for his own draft stock and force Manning in. I think the horns will be in shock that the guy they're forcing out is actually a bit more talented than the kid that's never played a meaningful snap.

I've seen several different posters say Maalik Murphy is a dual threat. He is about the most statue-pocket-passer there exists in CFB

I have watched numerous Duke games. Murphy is as single-threat as they come -- frustratingly so.

Neither Murphy nor Van Buren are threats on the ground.

Murphy had a total of -79 yards (negative) on the ground.
Van Buren has -12 (negative) on the ground.

Sellers is the elite young QB in the conference, IMO and would make a ton of sense for Oregon.

Does not take a genius to know Manning will be the sips QB next year. He's already waited two years which tells me just how much they are paying him for him to stay and not play. He's playing next year.

So Ewers will either be in the NFL or another college team that can throw money at him. Maybe it's Bama if Milroe leaves. Who knows.

My guess is he goes pro.

That one makes sense as well as far as the school. Doubt it's that high a number though. More likely in the 3 mil range.

Ewers may not even be the starter by the time the CFP ends. I would not be surprised if he struggles and Manning takes over.

Manning's upside and athleticism is much better suited for college football.

Surprised how much Ewers doesn't run in college. He was the fastest offensive player his junior year at Southlake Carroll. He developed a sports hernia prior to the state championship game against Westlake and pretty much never was fast again.

Ewers is also extremely fragile. He has missed games due to injury every year. Late round pick at best IMO.
