Every other sport college and pro has a playoff system to get to the end. College football is the only one that was doing the dumb **** crap about being selected.
So-called Outside conferences should have a chance to get in. That's why we have wildcard games in MLB and NFL that's why we have regionals in college baseball and tournaments in college basketball.
I for one I'm sick of a group of elites that think they get to pick and choose who's the best team. They're so full of themselves and they are always leaning towards the same teams. And I know some people will say well they were the best teams in football. It's not the point. It's not the point in any other sport quit making it so in college football.
And I get it the game with TCU a few years ago was very lopsided, but they had beaten Michigan to get there. If you don't let them play out on the winds alone, then you are picking and choosing who you really want to be there. And I don't like that.
Playoffs and national championships or Super Bowls or World Series are not about necessarily the best team. It's about the team that wins out and that's the way it should be. People need to get over themselves saying oh it's the best team oh, it's a quality win. **** that. Win out and you get there. That's what I was hoping this would be, but they're trying to **** with it again.
If you keep picking teams from the SEC and screw over everyone else, what's the point? The way the media and even ESPN is slobbering over the same freaking four teams. Every year is just gross. And even though I'm not a huge fan of the NIL or the transfer portal at least it's going to get rid of some of these dynasties and level the playing field.
I mean, look at Texas. If they weren't Texas and they were some of the random team, they wouldn't be there based on the rules that they put down themselves on quality wins and strength of schedule. It's just all one big popularity fest.
Now, if Texas winds out, then they deserve to be there, but they and even Alabama are being given. Chances other schools would never get. Alabama has no business being in the CFP this year.
I just wish these committees would just knock it off and give everyone a chance.
