We gave up 34 points in regulation.

It's worse for South Carolina. Def more of a defensive issue.

1. Klein becomes very predictable in the run game and goes too vanilla too often.
2. The defense needs to be far more disciplined. We gave up too many big runs up the middle and on the edge. We still have guys trying to bump ball carriers down instead of wrapping up. That is on the coaches because you bench guys for that and they will learn. We didn't rotate enough and the D looked gassed.

Spot on...not enough RPO w/ QB like Reed. That option on short side of the field was definitely a "WTF" moment w/ Klein. Our D has regressed with LB & secondary getting torched...smh.

Klein thought he had Tom Brady pocket passing the entire 1st half.

Against decent defenses we don't, we just played the easiest schedule we've had since we've been in the SEC.
He is way to predictable, in key times game after game we go flat….we had one really good drive that the kids overcame 3rd and long several times to bail his play calling out.
Go watch the game(s) he tries to out guess the defenses and gets burned time after time.
The defense got gashed yes, plenty of threads on that and I agree we have looked weaker and weaker as the weeks have gone by ESP against power running games and the deep ball play action. Their OC's seem to manage to call plays that get people unaccounted for and wide open, we don't ever unless it's a scramble drill.

Even when we do find something that works…6-8 yard passes to Thomas, we go away from it to run a short side option on 3rd and 6 to try and win the game….really?

At this point he's over matched in the SEC it's obvious. I think a lot of Conner's issues he owns, then he gets Reed and tries to turn him into Conner.
It's mind boggling to be able to sit on the couch and call his plays ahead of time over and over again, if I can do it, every DC in the country can do it.

26 against Bowling Green
21 against Ark
20 against SC

You can argue we had one really good offensive game against Miz with Conner and a 9 min stretch with Reed running on LSU that have been the highlights all year against an incredibly weak Sec schedule. Not crying, presenting facts and I want us to be better than the avg. team we've been forever. Let's move on and get another OC in here.

This was on the defense, which has inexplicably fallen apart the past 2 weeks. Auburn hasn't scored more than 24 in league play all year and we gave up 31 in regulation. The most points Auburn has given up this year was 31 to Georgia and we matched that in regulation.

You're looking at the wrong side of the ball.

I think defense is the issue. Something has happened over the past month. Against SC we couldn't tackle. Last night we got no pressure on their QB.

Very true. He doesn't call the best plays.

Not sure why he kept trying to run the ball to the left when nothing was working out. Kept repeating the process with the same results.

What is Klein going to learn in year 5 that he's missed in years 1-4? For starters it's obvious the only QBs interested in playing for Klein are runners without touch. Now he can't even get one of those to commit.

That option call was ridiculous. You could see Reed didn't want to run that or have a feel for how to really execute. Where the hell did Klein pull that from.

This game wasn't on Klein. This game was on Bateman and the defense.

Auburn only averaged 16 point per game in the SEC yet scored 21 point before we even woke up.

Vandy held Auburn to 7, Arkansas held them to 14. California held them to 14.

The Defense was beyond pathetic last night.

It's not one game. The offense has been anemic the entire season, except where opposing teams didn't prepare for the correct flavor of vanilla.

As long as the scoreboard shows we have 1 point more than the opponent. We spotted USCe a huge lead and did the same with Auburn. We manage to tie it up and then when the game was there for the taking, we **** the bed.

Spotting them a 21 point lead to start the game was a death blow. If we could have matched their scores in the first half, our second half dominance would've given us a comfortable lead. I think Thorne's confidence spike after their throttling of UL Monroe…..it was just bad timing for us….Buzz Saw #2!!!

Exactly this.

We have made this offense an over-achieving unit. Klein and the offense are limited on talent and that's fixable.

Significantly more concerned about the defense. That's supposed to be Elko's baby and something has to change.

It's not a talent issue IMO. We're letting teams score above their season averages (double it, matter of fact) and are pretty clearly regressing on that side of the ball.
