In their eyes, they finally have the one that knows how to beat big brother.
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand.
Would you expect them to say it's a good hire even if they believed it when it comes to them discussing A&M?

1) Big 12 offenses are usually more explosive than we like to give them credit. KSU is no different in that they typically have explosive offenses. From huge gashing runs, to speedy WRs running free, to mobile QBs.

2) Which leads me to keeping the defense off balance. Rarely did Jimbo do this. Jimbo was predictable. In the one game without his influence and with a 3rd string Qb, Petrino had a more challenging offense on the field vs LSU. We'll see this immediately with Klein.

3) people are underestimating what it's like learning under Bill Snyder imo. They didn't call him the wizard for nothing.

I like this hire.

Why? Who would you want instead?
Don't you love all the haters that can't explain why they don't like the hire but just want to dump on everything lol

Would have loved to see a poll that night on who of the 3 people thought would have the greatest long term successful careers.

Media at the time had built Teo up to be the next Junior Seau

Sadly, this is a bittersweet object lesson for all our players, that life choices matter. " l coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which I am " Marlon Brando " On The Waterfront "

I like this one and Elko and the whole staff he's announced so far. Real deal ball coaches, recruiters, good winning culture vibes among this staff.

Because scoring a lot of points against BDF defenses is a measure of greatness. Where have I heard that before? I hope it works out.

KSU had one of the best offenses based off advanced stats. Those stats take opponent, field position, game situation into account.

I like the Hire.
It will be interesting to see what can be done differently with different resources, as well as the different influence from the HC.

I expect to NOT see the same offense as he ran at K-State, but whatever hybrid of that he can do with the PERSONNEL available.

I think Petrino had no chance to change what our O-Lineman had/have the CAPABILITIES to do. Now we will see. For the last couple of years, no was complaining about technique or the physical limitations of this guy or that guy. We just talked about getting tired of them not functioning as a unit.

I really want to see the Running Backs coach teach vision, patience and anticipation. You know the stuff that Spiller GREW into and that Achane had. They don't all need to run into walls and waste their talents.

Receivers, many have shown they can get open, we just failed to see them getting open.

Balance is what we need. Don't let the D load up the box, because they know we can't throw, and don't let them load up Nickel & Dime Packages because they know we can't run.

We'll be OK.

At $76 million per firing, how many times do you plan to fire Jimbo???

Old thread…. But I'll add to the old conversation.

When I'll trying to figure out if an offensive with good stats against weak competition is actually good… I look at the YAC. Because YAC against an FCS team won't be YAC against more talented defenders.

As suspect as B12 defense is…the dudes are usually in the right places, they just don't tackle or have the size/speed to affect the play.

Also redzone efficiency is another good metric. Schema and execution matter more than talent gap.

So in my book… a big12 offense that gets its yards from YAC or struggles in the red zone: the stats are a product of weak defense.

How.does this analysis work for Leah's offense? I think it was pretty YAC heavy, and was at least credible in the SEC.

Having said that, Miss St was never a top tier SEC team while he was there. He could tear up some defenses (like ours, ofc) but not everyone, and not consistently.
