Make sure you watch the entire thing. Resist the itch to watch the first 30 seconds and come post here.

Most of the comments scream, "I'm a texas/oklahoma t-shirt fan who wraps their entire personality around a school I never attended."

Don't want to watch. Just know it's going to be so cringe.

It's a video of yell practice that was done virtually. That's it.

I guess college students are to be perfectly stoic at 18-21, showing no emotion nor having fun in any way.

The video of the yell leaders captures the over-emphasized dance steps. But as I've commented before, the current students own the traditions and are more than stewards. They are the embodiment of the Spirit of Aggieland and deserve agency and latitude.

As a comparison the effort that was taken to do a single new yell one time in a sarcastic response to Rick Barnes is also the embodiment of Texas A&M. Not every new tradition needs to last forever. Some punctuate key series and create indelible memories.

I had one of those knocking on Frank Vandiver's door a bit past midnight asking for a place to study. We had witnessed the MSC hotel staff harassing students in the lobby trying to study and chose to protest the behavior by letting the chief executive know. He and his wife did not call the KK on us and after a short conversation we politely left.

The next day every single student government mail box had a note reminding those with influence that no one was to be removed from the MSC without the campus police being involved.

Vandiver later mentioned the incident as one of his most treasured memories and a friend hit us each a physical copy.

We all should leave Texas A&M a bit different than when we arrived and hopefully a better institution because of our presence. The Yell Leaders have a unique forum that is more than a bit controversial with campus leadership especially the faculty. That it is the last remnant of an all-male military school is embodied in the faithful votes of each class choosing Corps members who are male. That could change some day but hopefully only because the voters initiate the change without coercion.

Make no mistake Josh Pate's show is now part of 247. Prior to them picking him up, he was a dependable fresh voice.

Note how he tossed out this red herring about the shared Academy sponsorship, but still is required to throw in the old sliver meme ("they want to be profitable outside of central East Texas"). 247 franchise >>> Academy sponsorship, in case it wasn't obvious.

Remember, this is the same 247 that, for most of the 2000s (the decade not the century), systematically inflated recruits' ratings if they committed to $ip.

As a bunch of yahoos on a message board the best we can do is not post his crap and not click on his crap (or even tell YouTube "don't recommend channel," under the hamburger menu).

As supporters of Aggie Football we can ask our AD to share his plan of action for improving media coverage of our University.

I saw this video as a positive. The vibe I get, and I will paraphrase this, is that the Yell Leaders are part of what makes college football great.

He doesn't get it, he says you may not get it, but it doesn't matter. You want a vanilla experience, follow pro football. If you want unique traditions showcased every week, Texas A&M is at the top of the heap.

The cheerleaders for each NFL team serve no useful purpose and is so worn out that nearly nekkid women and clowns in the stands get more TV time than the cheerleaders. The originals had to be the hawgs of Washington redskin days. I guess they have either lost interest or passed away.

Yell Leaders are what get all our recruits called "Gay" on a daily basis on Twitter is what yell leaders [without any female cheerleaders] provide. Could probably prevent our recruits being targeted as Gay by having female cheerleaders to offset the perception, but that's too much for the incel & elderly crowd on here.

There's that, which is awesome, and then there is what the Yell Leaders do. Love them…. but an honest Aggie has to admit that they can be a wee bit of an annoyance at times.

Completely baffles me that former students are against having cheerleaders on the former student side. Keep the yell leaders in front of the student section.

Also the media people that clown our yells obviously haven't been a few (many) beers deep doing a third BTHO yell for Alabama weekend. Absolutely electric...

If getting called mean names on Twitter affects your life decisions, then you likely lack the mental fortitude to play D1 football. Now that I think about it, perhaps that's a great Litmus test. Someone willing to play here despite the name calling from a nameless, faceless, cheetos stained finger mob is someone more likely to better represent the institution and people that have come before them. If you don't like the traditions here, as us elderly folk like to say, "Highway 6 runs both ways". Or for the new army folks that don't get the reference, GTFO.

LOL. Go be like all your friends and go to Sam or SFA while rocking the burnt orange.

Actually I like the point that he made. There have been times when I felt the yell leaders were cringy and that maybe it was time to get rid of them. But now I agree with those that it is what makes us unique. We can modify this in some way that still keeps the tradition alive. Let's not be cookie cutter like everyone else.

This video is a positive one. Let's appreciate that.

They can lead the yells without doing 60's dance moves in the process. Their predecessors in decades past managed to do that.

Yell Leaders are fine at Kyle Field to lead the students - they have no business on the road, basketball games, etc.

The lady behind me at Neyland this past Saturday asked me about the guys in white, wondering why we had five male "cheerleaders" dancing around. I was on row 40, 20+ rows higher than the FTAB which was in front of us. We couldn't hear the band or the yell leaders, but I briefly explained why we had yell leaders and not cheerleaders due to being an all-male college for so long and she said "OK, that's pretty cool"

On a side note, she had her 5 year old son with her for his first Vols game. She kept apologizing for his yelling and screaming and we (my Vol BIL and I) told her (and him) to keep it up, he's always gonna remember his first game.

After time ran out, I turned around to the kid and asked "Did you like that?" Of course he said yes and I gave him a fist bump. Another Vol fan next to the mom patted my shoulder and said it was really cool of me to do that. Hopefully that kid remembers his first game and that Aggie who was a gracious loser.

They have many other options. If a recruit is concerned with someone calling them "Gay" because we have yell leaders then I'd say the yell leaders are doing us a favor by weeding out the weak minded recruits. Yell leaders are part of what makes this university unique and I hope we keep this tradition forever.

That's on you. There's literally dozens of other options if you *need* to see women dancing. There's also the internet, you don't need *those* magazines anymore.

Yell Leaders have been around since before New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii entered statehood. Old west gunfights were still going on. The last veteran of the Texas Revolution was still alive, and Civil War vets, even its generals, were alive and in abundance.

There's no real reason to get rid of such a thing, especially to appease Twitter; most of its CFB population never attended the school they're fans of anyway.

Haha. Women? I'm one of the token gays on Texags.

The Yell Leaders are a quaint throwback to simpler times. One we need to keep. However, some hot little cheerleaders being perky on the sidelines is long over due in Aggieland.

But there's literally dozens of other games going on to see said women. It also goes against what yells are. Yells aren't an A&M thing by any stretch. They were originally made by all-male groups, first starting at Princeton. A&M is probably the sole campus that does them as they were intended. In addition, one has to admit, flipping signs that say "Go Aggies" and other milquetoast things sounds cringe, especially in Kyle Field. Like we have Medal of Honor recipients who did these things; why water them down now?

We're adults… which means we can multi-task in numerous ways. One of those ways is realizing that A&M can have both Yell Leaders and Cheerleaders. The two are not mutually exclusive. And there is no denying that the concept of "cheerleaders" at football games is a huge part of the fanfare of college football.

Again, do both. It's really easy.

Yell Leaders are awesome! I was a roommate of a Yell Leader a long time ago, and knew many of them; they're not just a good bunch, they're great group of guys. The process of being elected to the position is one in which elevates only highly motivated candidates. It's all pretty cool…

Overall, I like having yell leader lead yells. But, IMO all the choreographed dancing around by the yell leaders looks really gay, and I don't like it at all. If they are going to dance around, let's replace them with female cheerleaders. The yell leaders didn't do all that dancing around crap in the 70's and early 80's. They're in military training for crying out loud... they should lead yells, not try to be cute. You don't see Army, Navy, or the Air Force Academy jump around acting like queer fools.

Leave the yell boys alone. If cheerleaders were that big of a deal to you, you should have went somewhere else. Yeah, I said it. Maybe it's campy as hell, but you all knew what you were signing up for.

It was probably some random midnight yell practice you went to as a kid that got you all jazzed up about being an Aggie in the first place.

And stop apologizing. Who cares what LSU, or t.u thinks. Get over it. Embrace it even. You whiners look weak by giving in to the floppy hair, or the jean shorts banter.

It's also an elected position, so women can do yell too. They just are never elected.
