Sounds like a perfect project for the Rudder Association to focus on instead of messing around with stuff they shouldn't.

I have to agree with you. Pretty sure the DJ is sending out DEI, LGBTQ, BLM, and other woke subliminal messaging while playing his tunes. Our students and old ags are being grooomed subconsciously by the evil DJ. Save us, Rudder Association!

Y'all need to quit complaining on here and actually write the AD or get a petition going to remove the DJ.

Just my 2 cents.
  • Move the band. Half the stadium cannot hear them. North Zone is ideal. I sit 4 sections down from FTAB on the 1st deck and it feels like they are 20 miles away.
  • Chill with the music. Every kick-off and defensive possession the 12th man noise is being drowned out by the DJ. Less is more man.
  • Use the band more than music. There has to be some more up tempo military songs in their set list.
  • Entrance is garbage. Go to song people know with more build up in tunnel. Put in a gate at the end of the tunnel to increase suspense.

Turning into a pro atmosphere, and looks unlikely to turn back around. Enrollment has increased season ticket and student sport pass sales, it's not the Kyle Field atmosphere.

People used to go to football games and enjoy them without blaring music, a loud dumbass (how I loath Bob Cole in DKR-Memorial). A jumbo monitor is great. I understand that some commercials here and there benefit the program. All great, but it's the football and quality of the team that fills the stands. Nobody comes for the beating of loud speakers and idiocy.
. ................... Today the DJ garbage was especially bad before kickoffs. It was beyond loud....not music...just annoying noises. Why?

One thought… we need Visor Guy (or the FTAB) to lead a yell "BTHO DJ" several times a game until the AD gets the message loud & clear!

Having a dj is fine as long as its used correctly and plays hype music that encourages the crowd to get into it

It was my first time being back to Kyle Field since the 2010 win against Oklahoma. I don't ever remember dudes wearing cowboy boots and cutoff jeans shorts so short their butt cheeks are showing. Someone help me out? What's the deal?

I feel like this is one of things where everyone will always feel like it's worse than it was after they graduated. I think part of it is a rite of passage where you heard ags older than you complain and so when it comes to be your time, you complain, too.

I also think it's probably deteriorated, too, just not as bad as many of you think. You are upset because the gameday experience is no longer tailored to your generation. Doesn't mean it sucks, just means you're getting a little older.

You can hate the DJ, but the students enjoy it, and that's the most important thing. "BaCk iN yOuR dAy" as a student, you didn't have to deal with a man in a red shirt stumbling out onto the field 12 times every game with a big sign that said 2:40. Those 150 second commercial breaks kill the atmosphere more than ANYTHING. Sucks the mojo out of the air and makes the stadium feel like a bite of water flavored ice cream. The DJ can play a lil bop and remind the students it's time to get back into it. There have been games over the years where I thought, "meh, DJ didn't have quite the songs for the right times," and there have been times I thought, "wow! He pressed every right button at the time to get the most out of the fans."

Yea, the DJ wasnt just there for reminders on Saturday. There was not a moment of silence the entire time. The noise was constant. The DJ is featured FAR more prominantly now than anything else including the 12th man and the band. It was no different than a Stars game.

I am going to guess the band played less than ten minutes the entire game and the students did less than 12 yells the entire game. I know they did not do a yell the entire 4th quarter. I guess if that's what the students want......

I don't think 'thats what the students want' really has anything to do with it.

I haven't been to a game this year, but I would say that easily a majority of the students enjoyed the DJ when I was a student. Sounds like he may have a more prominent role now than back then, but students may prefer that. I have heard some complaints from students about the lack of yells the last 2 seasons, though

"Students are so quiet". Says the former student no longer sitting in the middle of the student section. We have a great student section, but the rest of the stadium is ****ing lazy. I've been to plenty of away games and have never seen a contrast so great as it is at Kyle. I doubt the west side was so shockingly quiet in the 80s & 90s.

We've lost 7 straight road games. I'm more worried about that than home atmosphere.

Decline continues.

DJ is somehow getting worse.
Kickoff energy is gone.
With all the staff changes needed, let's hope one of them is a new gameday atmosphere committee.

Just Sad.

Agree. Now have the stupid hell's bells EVERY 3rd down. Pretty soon we will have the voice over for "its 3rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd dowwwwwwwwwwwn!" . We used to make fun of other schools doing that.

I can't wait until the DJ breaks into "everybody clap your hands" or the FTAB launches into "eat em, eat em up, rah, rah, rah." Kyle Field used to organically loud, now it's scripted and becoming like any other venue.
I know nothing!

Times change and a big part of being a successful football program is changing with the times. Some may not like it, but ultimately it comes down to whether or not the recruits and players like it.

Wait…..we are winning now?!?!?!?! Who told us that? Record sure doesn't show it.

Turns out this was 100% wrong. Same with changing things to chase recruits.
