Can you imagine the threads we'd get here had TexAgs existed when the allowed females in for the first time.
The problem is, the band director wants a symphony band instead of a marching band! Get someone from a Col. Adams band to show these one lung band members how to play loudly, It can be done!!pothag2012 said:
Just my 2 cents.
- Move the band. Half the stadium cannot hear them. North Zone is ideal. I sit 4 sections down from FTAB on the 1st deck and it feels like they are 20 miles away.
- Chill with the music. Every kick-off and defensive possession the 12th man noise is being drowned out by the DJ. Less is more man.
- Use the band more than music. There has to be some more up tempo military songs in their set list.
- Entrance is garbage. Go to song people know with more build up in tunnel. Put in a gate at the end of the tunnel to increase suspense.
Turning into a pro atmosphere, and looks unlikely to turn back around. Enrollment has increased season ticket and student sport pass sales, it's not the Kyle Field atmosphere.

Times change and a big part of being a successful football program is changing with the times. Some may not like it, but ultimately it comes down to whether or not the recruits and players like it.
actually when that happened there wasnt much talk of the change.A_Gang_Ag_06 said:

Imagine we win the NC....guarantee people will be complaining about the commercials during the game.
Moving the band to the north Zone is a non Starter. People paid money for those chairbacks in the Zone. Not gonna happen. It does bite that people in the north Zone can easily hear the opposing team pep Band but can't hear the FATB, but that is acoustics.pothag2012 said:

SEC rules don't allow that. I'm assuming that rule started after an indicident or two with crazy students and opposing players.fla_agfan said:
I think not having yhe student section on the first deck right behind the opponent (like it used to be) is a mistake.
But I'm old

Athletic department kicked people out of their season tickets this year to put in more suites. They set a precedent. No section is safe from changes. These changes would improve the atmosphere, unlike the suites.McInnis80 said:Moving the band to the north Zone is a non Starter. People paid money for those chairbacks in the Zone. Not gonna happen. I do remember in the 80's the band played the Imperial Storm Trooper March for the Wrecking Crew. Maybe if we bring back the Wrecking Crew the band could bring back the Storm Troopers.

trust me the game day experience today is nothing close to 20 years ago.texasaggie2015 said:
I never said NIL money didn't. Did I?
Two things can be true. NIL can make a big difference. Not having the exact same gameday atmosphere as 20 years ago (before these kids were born) can also make a big difference.
well I agree with those who complain about music so loud you can't hear yourself think or its overwhelms the aggie faithful. I don't think thats whining.Tobias Funke said:
I went to every home game 20 years ago, I go to a couple of games a year now. The atmosphere was awesome then and it's awesome now. The stadium was great then and it's greater now. The team sucked then and they're better now.
If you go to A&M games and your only takeaways have to do with the music or lights or entrance, you're a natural whiner and/or probably just not that into football.
Oh now you've done it!aeon-ag said:Classes of '80 and beyond!pothag2012 said:
I am not sure what the age definition of New Army is for you. No old-timer here.
It's not. Hence why the recruits don't give a **** about the band and would they would rather hear whatever is current played by a DJ while playing. Thanks for making my point.txaggieacct85 said:I didn't know the band was there to help recruit football players. hmmAustinCountyAg said:
move the band? how about putting some microphones next to them. Modern technology is amazing.
adding "up tempo military song"? my god.
Let the band do the band thing at halftime and let the DJ do his thing during the games.
Aggie band is cool, but one thing is for sure is that the top recruits in America aren't choosing A&M because of its military marching band playing exciting marching songs during the games. FACT
I didnt know any entertainment during the game was there to recruit players. I thought it was for the 100,000 plus Aggie fans. Sumlin piped in music for his team during practices. We see how that worked out.AustinCountyAg said:It's not. Hence why the recruits don't give a **** about the band and would they would rather hear whatever is current played by a DJ while playing. So, what you are saying, we need a DJ to win games? That the players are even remotely paying attention to the music rather than concentrating on their assignments and/or coach's instruction? I know when I played sports (certainly not at the collegiate level), I knew there was a crowd but unless they were overwhelmingly loud one way or the other I certainly would forget they were there because too much was going on on the field/court.texasaggie2015 said:Lmao oktmaggies said:texasaggie2015 said:

If you don't think gameday entertainment and the fan experience has an effect on recruiting your obtuse and there is nothing more I can say to you. good lucktxaggieacct85 said:I didnt know any entertainment during the game was there to recruit players. and I think NIL $ is what is attracting players and the chance to play in front of 100,000 fans.
