ESPN already has Clemson and FSU under contract. No reason to pay them $30 million more per year to move to the SEC. It would be financial malpractice.
They are willing to pay ESPN cash (which they need) to move. SEC is willing to give ESPN a 9th game of inventory to help fund the new shares for ACC teams.
FOX is willing to work with ESPN so ESPN comes ahead (or keeps the right) to get into Florida/south east.
There are more than one way multiple parties can come out happy.
Wait what?

Come on. Why the heck would the SEC give one penny to help fund the ACC. I admire your passion and determination but this is absurd.
Yah, this is the part that makes no sense. ESPN would benefit far more from the ACC falling apart to the point where they can renegotiate and LOWER the payments to the ACC.
I meant the 9th SEC game revenue would help pay for full shares to Clemson and Florida State in the SEC. Only way schools would be on board with expansion is if it doesn't lower current payouts.
ESPN doesn't want to lose FSU/Clemson to FOX, but they also don't want to pay extra money just to keep them. Negotiating a 9th SEC conference games provides additional value that would persuade both parties to agree.
The SEC would want FSU/Clemson so they don't have to go head to head in the market for future tv deals against a B1G that is comprised of:
USC
Ohio State
Michigan
Florida State
Oregon
Clemson
Penn State
Washington
Wisconsin
Michigan State
UCLA
and a Notre Dame still looming large out there.
You just keep digging that hole. The SEC has been having a knock down, drag out fight over playing 9 games, with many schools demanding that they (not the conference, but each existing member) receive more money from ESPN in exchange for playing 9. You are suggesting that they will now agree to play that 9th game with no change in compensation just so that the SEC can add FSU and Clemson. You come off like someone on the spectrum when you keep pushing this garbage.
The funny thing is that your claim is even more stupid than it looks, because, in the unlikely event that FSU and Clemson manage to buy their way out of the grant of rights, the SEC contract with ESPN already has a pro rata clause in it that applies when the SEC adds another Power 5 school, whether we play 8 games or 9. So your claim to inside knowledge is not only false, it's illogical
FSU and Clemson aren't going anywhere without buying their way out of the grant of rights. Accept that fact and move on with your life.
