Why anyone is surprised by this I don't know. Aggie Football has been underperforming expectations with very few exceptions for the past 25 seasons. This is just how it is. Get used to it.
The only exceptions I can think of where we overperformed expectations:
2006 (We upset defending NC t.u.)
2010 (We beat t.u., NU, and OU in the same season)
2012 (JFF Heisman year, beat Bama, Cotton Bowl beatdown of OU)
2020 (Came oh so close to Playoff)
I don't count 1998 where we won the Conference Championship because we were expected to contend for that
Every other season was a disappointment

Yeah that throw was pretty bad. My assessment of that guy has changed. We aren't winning another game - even umass is a toss up after app state.
