And yet another personal attack without addressing any points. Don't post at all if you're not adding to the topic at hand. Not a difficult concept. You don't have to let me live rent free in your head

The A&M I chose was anti-frat. The yellboys became a frat.Shoe97 said:
Question for those of you with AG Tags complaining about Yell Leaders (if you don't have a tag, your complaints are mute)…did you not realize the Yell Leaders were a large part of the Spirit of Aggieland before you applied, were accepted and graduated from our great university, or do you now fell like you need to fall in line with what society tells you to think? Traditions at A&M have always been different from that of any other university in the country. That's what makes Aggieland great. If social media said the FTAB needs to be more like every other college marching band, would you fall in line with the social media bullies and agree with them as well? How about your Aggie ring…Do you cringe when someone asks you why you wear it everyday? Because even grads from other unis where a class ring is part of their history don't where their rings like Aggies do. How about you think long and hard what it means to be an Aggie, look at our history, and embrace what it is that makes A&M great!
Cringe is too soft of a word. it's literally worse than the worst comedian you see on stage at a given open mic night. Enough to make Michael Scott uncomfortable.HoustonAggie37713 said:
It's cringe. It's been cringe. But it's not changing.
Yeah . . .You can't go live and call a visiting fan base illiterate hillbillies and think it is going to play well. You really can't do it when you look like Gomer Pyle and are dancing around in overalls.Quote:
The entire problem is that the yell leaders are not funny, AT ALL! And I can't stress the "AT ALL" part enough. I mean, if you're not funny, get someone that is to write for you. It's that easy.
Everyone acts like making a few minor tweaks means the tradition is gone. No. It means you adapted the tradition, just a little, to better appeal to the people living in the current century.
Brand is important in college football. All successful companies have evolved their brands at different times in their history without changing who they are or what their brand stands for. If you try to change it too much (New Coke), that's when you lose.

Bro, no one with 5,000+ posts in the span of less than 2 years is living rent free in my head. Trust me when I say this.
Being that you are clearly a recent grad (if you have even graduated at all), perhaps you picked the wrong university. Might want to reevaluate your life choices, and stop trying to get everyone else to change to compensate for you.
the word corps has an "s" in it.cmsaggie12 said:
I'll throw in my 2 cents. I'm gonna get some hate for this but screw it. Class of 2012 here.
I went to 1 yell practice with my fish camp and never went again. I invited 1 corp guy to a party freshmen year between fish camp and class starting. He brought 5-6 other corp guys with him uninvited. Didn't bring any beer and drank all of ours. Never invited another corp guy again.
I have a cousin in the marines who brought 3 of his marine friends to the Auburn 2013 game. They all laughed at the corp - "fake army" and other expletives I won't mention here. They said the band was cool and that's it.
The hissing, yell leaders, yell practice are embarrassing to me. Too each their own. There are a lot of traditions I love but there are some I don't care for. Nothing will ever change so I don't lose sleep over it.
sometimes it takes an outsider's perspective to remind us how embarrassing some of our traditions are. Like the dumb yell leader leg lift thing, because some yell leader from 1923 farted during a speech and now every yell leader does the fart motion. Like we dont have to make everything a thing we do until the end of time because your grandpa's grandpa's grandpa did it once.cmsaggie12 said:

"Fake army." That struck a nerve. Nobody claims that the Corps is an army. It is the Corps and it is not fake. Many thousands of us former Corps members served as officers in the military. Others enlisted and served honorably. Texas Aggies had Big presence in WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other wars. And over 1000 Aggies, including 9 of my classmates, did not come home. The MSC in their memory. And by the way, over 200 Aggies became generals or admirals. The Corps is real; like the Corps or not, it should be respected.

What # sock are you on?
You don't have to tell me how much space I hold in your head. All your responses are emotional and have no substantive value, so the answer is clear to me and everyone else.
Fix your reading comprehension and run along.

Bro you don't even have your Aggie ring and diploma yet. Get out of here. You are the epitome of new army. You probably don't understand that you are being insulted right now either.
What's really going on here is you are just upset that you don't have the testicular fortitude to not give a crap what others think. You are jealous of people that do. And therefore, you are compensating right now, trying to say that others are the problem, when it's really just your personal, self-conscious fear of standing out.

I never said I didn't respect it. I shared what 4 actively serving Marines said at a football game. I think their point was why wear uniforms and present yourself as something you are not. If they were taking time off while in school to serve, that is a different story. What they go on to do AFTER their time in the Corps should be commended and respected.
I come from a family that is largely military. Both grandpas, numerous aunts and uncles, and countless cousins. So I respect the military.

You needed multiple edits to spew all that garbage?
You're making a hell of a lot of assumptions, all incorrect at that.
You've had your fun, now go log back into your 5 other socks and bother elsewhere
"Former corps members" is key here. I guess I'm unaware of current Corps members and current students who are enrolled, pausing their studies and going overseas to serve. Please enlighten me.Whatthefunyo said:strbrst777 said:

Bravo.
I guess all of those former Corps members that went to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria over the last few years were fighting fake wars. Because I mean, who would send fake soldiers anyway?
I have had family members die while serving in the military. I'm telling you what 4 active Marines told me. The Corps is great but I see their point. People die in the military. They wear that uniform because they've earned it.Shoe97 said:cmsaggie12 said:strbrst777 said:

cmsaggie12 You need to just stop…it is obvious you have zero idea what the Corps is or why it is exists. Just stop.
