Here! here! I got news for those concerned about other fan bases opinions. It doesn't matter what we do they will still have the same opinion of us

The amount of emphasis A&M enables yell leaders to have in the media for our football game needs to change. They are a liability more often than not.
Tired of seeing cringe yell leader **** blasted out on tv and social media week after week after week.

Yell leaders need to continue doing what they do best. Lead yells.

At some point over the last 15 years, it's turned into a look at me fest. Tired of it. Flame away

Who cares what FSU thinks or anyone else for that matter. We should NEVER apologize for who we are.
So the possible perception recruits might have isn't important? After all they are "anyone else".
I'd troll the Hell outa the Horns if I was a social media user and had this ammo. Don't think for a minute they don't have fans that won't. Or any other team for that matter. Look at the gangbang that resulted when Saban opened his pie hole about Jimbo buying his class. Damn near everyone sided with that little ***** leprechaun.

I could give a f*** less what most folks think of me personally. The point is, it's a widespread perception whether deserved or not. Do you not think this could have any affect on recruiting whatsoever? Don't think this won't be used against us in the day and age of EVERYONE having a public platform.

Oh here we go with the "it effects recruiting" argument. Been hearing that one for years, yet we continue to recruit at a very high level.
You know what effects recruiting? Winning, losing, coaching and facilities.
Funny thing is facilities didn't become a big thing up until about 10 years ago when Oregon and Phil Knight made that change. Now NIL and the transfer portal are changing the landscape.

Nah, nothing ever changes. Just keep doing the same old thing. But don't complain if you get the same old result.

Facilities have been a big thing for much longer than 10 years. RC was begging for better facilities for years before he was let go.

Thank goodness we don't have Bonfire anymore, especially since it was televised for awhile. Dan Campbell must have been an embarrassment to many of you.

Get some thicker skin.

Students waving dildos is a recruiting plus? It sure hasn't hurt the sips recruiting.

You realize college station isn't exactly a paradise in the middle of Texas. Horns have the luxury of living in Austin which is enticing to young adults. We need every benefit we can get and have zero negative perception
28 year old white liberals too poor to afford to live in California. Not high school football players.

College Station is a great place for an 18 year old kid. Austin is fine too.

None of this matters. AT ALL

Actually, I go the other direction on this, based on conversations I had with coaches and my son (different sport & schools)

For some players, those variables might/can matter. If a player is interested in that kind of urban/city/cool environment, they aren't coming to A&M anyways. And if they are enticed, they probably won't stay because they won't enjoy the environment/atmosphere/town or whatever.

Not saying it's smart/correct/good etc etc or that the environment *should* matter more than all the other factors.
Or weather.... community.... school size... etc. Lots of variables.

But if does matter to a particular player for whatever reason, then that ship has sailed.

Tell that to Archie manning, austin is hip and upcoming. College station isn't. It's not that hard to understand
First of all, Arch Manning is overrated. Second, we never went after him. I'm sure Jimbo didn't want any part of that family trying to meddle in our program. I think the Manning family picked tu because they think it will be the easiest path for Arch being able to be the starter. They know that tu is worried about being "back" and will do anything for more attention. The Manning's will be able to call the shots at tu more than any other school. Wouldn't be able to do that with Kirby or Saban.

Did you think about walkability to bars or "live music scene" when you were 17? Or tech startup investment capital? Because I promise NO ONE HERE DID.
Are you a real person???

I will say that I actually liked the walkability, live music, and night life options of CS when I was in school. In fact, I probably enjoyed it too much. It was really nice coming from Houston, where we had like a minimum 20 minute drive to get to clubs or concerts. But it's insane to even suggest that teenagers don't care about entertainment or economic opportunity. Just insane.

Maybe we should stop letting 2% of the student population dominate 95% of the camera coverage. No need to get rid of the yell leaders, but the school is way more than the corps and has been for decades.

I really don't think it makes that much of a difference. People know women and other students exist. I wouldn't curtail to Twitter's demands of all places.

I didn't say make it like all the other ones

So many are quick to think
"THEY WANNA TAKE YELL LEADERS AWAY GTFO"

that isn't the case. They should continue doing the job they signed up to do

What they need to change is how they're being used as an extension of A&M in the media outside of their yell leader duties

Its a lose-lose for all of us. The world isn't laughing with us they're laughing at us

Who gives a **** if they're laughing or not? Like seriously. This sounds like a personal problem where you are insecure in who you are.

So many here clearly don't know how to build a brand or business. Stick to what you know.

I think the A&M brand is doing just fine without the vaunted advice of The Ghost of Bisbee
Drum5343

Texas A&M is (and will continue to be, despite some silliness from the yell leaders) a world renowned, tier 1, land, space, sea grant university. And you, mr bisbee are someone who apparently has nothing better to do than post on Texags more than 5,000 times in the last two years.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Why is OP demanding changes because of what "Barstool FSU" says? Barstool FSU is probably a 19 year old sitting in his/hers/its parents house just laughing at being able to troll such responses yet OP is willing to give one person way to much influence. It's why social media (including TexAgs) is evil.

The fact that this post has over 60 likes is sad. A&M can be unique without being cringeworthy, they can be mutually exclusive. Those yell leaders are absolutely cringeworthy and shouldn't be representing the entire University

Wanna know how I know you're a dewsh? Because you allow your life to be influenced & affected by what happens on social media. We all know social media is a plague on the world, and yet you still abide by it. A&M isn't for everyone. That's by design. We'll never be loved by everyone, and that's ok. Get off social media and be a man.

I hope nobody listens to you.

I'm the one that's influenced by social media? The irony

You see words on a website and can't help yourself from personal attacks on a message board. Words and social media trigger you that much, incredible

I don't know why you guys think yell stories not making a lot of sense is new. I remember a joke spot with some of my friends was when someone would tell a story that didn't really hit or make sense, someone would say, "And that's just what we are gonna do to them Aggies!" And I didn't get the sense that yell stories being kind of dumb and not making sense was exactly new in the 90's. I think the only difference from now and 15+ years ago is everyone having smartphones that record video and us televising on the web something that really isn't that much fun unless you are a little bit lit.
This is correct. It was always kind of lame, but Midnight Yell was still always fun in spite of it. You get to go in the stadium when there is no game, and you do the yells with thousands of other Ags. Its fun, but the media will always focus on the most awkward part of it because that gets click.

But I will say based on the video last week and this one, this seasons yell leaders seem geekier than normal.
