We are about to make another OL coach very rich.

What's odd is that USC reportedly just hired a different OL coach from UH 3-4 days ago

Don't agree with the addition by subtraction idea, I thought he did a good job overall and recruited well. Can't blame him if he's getting a chance at coordinating again with a big pay bump. Next guy will have a lot of talent to work with and I would imagine there will be several high-profile OL coaches interested in coming here.

I don't hate this tbh

I say congrats to him, he got a promotion to OC and likely a big pay bump because of that. Stuff like this is expected when you hire excellent coaches, it's a good thing imo.

Jim Turner set this OL back 5 years, if not more. He's the reason Jordan Jefferson is on this team.

Jim Turner was a lazy recruiter, who loved his low 3 stars. Tried to turn guards into tackles, because he couldn't land decent tackles. And generally sucked. Josh Henson was good. If we land someone as good as Henson I will be very impressed.

In before someone suggests hiring Sherman.

This. Turner had 3 first rounders to pad his resume. Henson didn't, and every season our OL saw big improvements under him. Remember the Maroon Goons finishing 2nd for the Joe Moore Award in 2020?

Everyone knew going into this season we would have issues on the OL after losing 4 upperclassmen to the draft (a couple of which were never projected to go pro). You can thank Henson for their production and development.

This season, after two injuries to our starters and starting two true freshman, they were improves enough to give a non-mobile, backup QB enough time to make plays. I thought Henson did a great job.

We didn't land Banks or Goodwin, but this is a tough loss IMO.

Hire Sherman

When your guys are leaving for promotions, that's a good sign.

Jimbo sure as hell wasn't letting that guy call plays and there's much better guts out there.

Title only. No way the hc giving up that. But you can only get so much money and with title of oc, he'll make a lot more than oline coach.

Right..Lincoln Riley not going to call the plays anymore. Going to give that job to Henson who hasn't called plays in years.

Wouldn't mind pulling Kentucky's oline coach. He's got them as Joe Moore finalists and was able to get Goodwin to sign there.

Now we have both a brand new Defensive Coordinator and a brand new Offensive Line coach to look forward to. I am sure Jimbo is working through a wealth of resumes and applications. He's working the phones. That man can talk!

This is a great time for him to do some deep diving into the current state of coaching personnel. He will get the Aggies the very best, creme of the crop.

Plus, he needs to replace that recruiter that left. Jimbo will be talking, asking questions, and listening. Coaches, recruiters and staff.

Jimbo is on a mission. He ain't done yet!

Two left and two promotions - that is good

Jimbo just needs to keep hiring the upper echelon assistants then we will be all good

This kind of sucks. I hope we get a real promotion.

Want to bet that all of the new replacements are still coaching teams? One way or another, if current staff members are being promoted, their replacements are currently coaching.
