What is absurd by this prof and others critical of Jimbo grabbing the facemask...and it being called"assault" .....is they don't ever consider Tyrel filling run gaps with a 210 back coming at him full speed.....that can be violent! These kind of people are what's wrong with our pussified society

Sometimes as a coach and later as an assistant principal and principal I would wade into fights at the school, separating kids best way I could-- sometimes with shoves and restraints. Figured it was for their own good. There would always be some teachers standing by, either too afraid or wondering about their job description. Probably why a coach can ask for quiet once, while some teachers never can get control. I would want my own kids to be held accountable if they were out of control. en loco parentis

I'm guessing it's when Jimbo was letting the official have it after the touchback ruling in the Clemson game. An assistant came over to pull him back and Jimbo flung his arm to get away from the assistant and I think he said "get the F off of me"

I thought it was pretty funny.

Has anyone seen "an assortment of sex offenders, felons, miscreants and ne'er-do-wells" on the team? If not, this is a nonissue and a nonstory.

Lib professors don't like football because it is the one sport that women cannot play. Hence, they will attack it using Leunes kind of logic as well as other financial and physical injury arguments. They didn't play the game and don't realize it's value.

The topic of this letter deserves some consideration.

Its concerns about Fisher are warranted IMO.

Its outrage at Fisher's actions @ A&M thus far is not credible.

If Fisher runs things as unscrupulously as this letter suggests that he *might*, what we need to worry about is the opposing media machines to the west, east, and north of us. I hate to admit it, but Briles was building a real juggernaut at baylol right up to the point where his ethical malleability caught up with him. I don't know behind whose media curtains f$u had to operate, but my guess is that it was a more forgiving environment than our own.

My point is that we need to take these concerns about our program very seriously, or we could very well be the next rising perennial taken down by "bombshell allegations."

Does anyone know anything about Woodward's history with managing ethics issues? My perception is that he's got a clean record.

I had him for Sports Psychology my senior year (gotta love directed electives). I will agree with the assessment that he told stories in class and you had to read outside of class to pass the tests. Still, the class was enjoyable and he was a nice guy. He definitely had his negative stories about football coaches (such as Jackie Sherrill castrating a bull in front of his Miss. State team prior to beating t.u.). It often seemed he resented big money sports at the college level. I could definitely see him despising Jimbo's contract, especially given what happened with Winston at FSU. I have to strongly disagree with him on this letter. Most people are saying that the facemask grab wasn't a big deal? Am I the only one who was excited to see it? I'm glad our coach has a pulse. Goodness, people! He's not throwing chairs and choking people. As odd as it sounds, it appeared to me he did it lovingly; definitely not maliciously. He definitely got Dodson's attention.

My football coach was a door gunner in Vietnam. He threw phones thru windows, chairs across rooms. He grabbed me by the facemask with these crazy eyes staring a hole in my soul. I've never recovered.

He helped make me a young man at the time. I'll love him till I die.

Stopped reading right there. Unless you have personal information about Jimbo Fishers actions in specific cases, this amounts to rumor mongering and maybe libel. It is not in following the code of ethics professionals at Texas A&M follow and should not be tolerated. The author of this should be reprimanded for their actions.

The author also mentions Fishers actions while at FSU, where the author likely has no evidence. That alone hurts the credibility of any further claims unless he can present evidence.

Anybody see him assault an assistant coach? This letter alledges this and that should be easy to prove because per letter it is on video. I've not seen this.

As far as facemask thing goes, Jimbo did right thing as we have discussed over and over. Nothing wrong with what he did. He did not yank or do anything to hurt the player. No different than walking up to him and putting hand on either side of helmet and getting right in his face to tell him to calm down.

And lastly, if Jimbo covers up crimes then we have issues but Jimbo is not Player A or player B. What Player A and Player B do is not on Jimbo, these are adults. What Jimbo does if Player A or B does something wrong is different. But no matter how much society tries to say otherwise a grown man is not responsible for the actions of another grown man!

So far, in everything he has done, on and off field since getting to A&M, Jimbo gets an A+.

This is a helluva stretch, but during the Clemson game when Jimbo went on the field to chew out a ref after the b.s. fumble through the end zone call, one of the graduate assistants sort of tried to restrain him, and Jimbo shook him off and bumped his shoulder as he returned to the sideline.
