This article is horribly written. Very confused as to the timeline of the accusations.

Either way, it paints Marchiol in a very bad light in my opinion. It seems that, in trying to take the easy way out, he ended up in a mess..

I'm seriously praying that none of that is true.

Probably is. Summy is probably pushing it too.

This is unfortunate. I wonder what will come about with all of this. I feel like the money allegation will lead nowhere since nothing can be traced. The practicing could lead to a slap on the wrist, and the injury issue is a nothing burger as well.

Or he could seek a waiver from the NCAA, which this year approved a policy change that allows transfers to play immediately if there were "documented mitigating circumstances that are outside student-athlete's control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete."

So, if I want to start playing immediately instead of sitting out a year then all I have to do is make up some bad enough allegations that would theoretically be bad enough for me to leave my former school? Yeah, sounds legit.

And I'm sorry but I don't believe in coincidences. I can't help but believe that Sumlin is helping to push this.

Schools are allowed to give hosts cash. It will be nearly impossible to prove Marchiol was given more than he was allowed.

Isn't he guilty of violating ncaa rules if he kept the extra cash from Peveto?

If this ain't the ****. Just what we needed. Even if not true.....

Let's hope none of this happened.

The NCAA has created a problem where kids who wish to transfer have incentive to make up illegalities so they can waive the time they are required to sit out.

ya but he is claiming that this was done during "unofficial" visits.

Not if he reports it like he did but he doesnt have proof of the money if it was all in cash and no receipts to prove it

The kid will do or say anything to get eligible.

He would throw his own mom under the bus if it means he could play this year.

Marchiol could have had a great career here but he chose to follow a coach instead of staying committed to a school.

This is exactly why the rules are in place.

calling Aggie Hawg, do you have any insight on this Arkansas law firm or heard any rumors as to why they are representing him from any of your Hog connections?

Due to the urgency of getting a waiver so that he doesn't lose a year of eligibility, Marchiol was willing to give a lengthy interview to USA TODAY Sports about what he experienced after Fisher was hired. While Marchiol's intention was not to ensnare Texas A&M in an investigation, he was determined to give a full account in order to give him the best chance at playing right away.

What a crock of s***.

I fully expect the NCAA to spend more time investigating a coach allegedly giving some of his players cash to help host recruits than they did for everything that went on at Baylor.

Marchiol said the money went toward drinks and snacks, but he had no record of the cash or purchases made with it and kept whatever wasn't spent. He said he did not give any of it to the recruits

Damn. If we cheated, we went with small ball and used a moron who just kept the cash himself.

So he was cool accepting a stack of cash, but....

If he did that, he should be rules permanently ineligible. There must be some sort of fix against us. No way he opens his stupid mouth unless they assured him he would not be sanctioned.

I don't feel sorry for him, screw him

Willing to throw his former teammates and coaches under the bus just so he doesn't have to sit out a year. I hope he never sees the field for Arizona.

"Hey dad for the past three days now the involvement with the coaching staff has not vanished, like it should have, but rather increased as they are now full-on coaching us during a full practice. We are not allowed to meet/practice at all and the coaches are doing it every day and telling us not to say anything. How ridiculous is that."
Who texts their Dad like this?... It's almost like he was texting this so it would be uncovered later on. Once he decided he wanted to leave, he realized he had to make it look like the coaches were doing things illegally.
