I've often thought about this, but I really don't want any more trouble. When you are facing the full force of the TAMU legal team because someone got their feelings hurt, it costs money to defend yourself even if the judgment would come out in your favor in the end, and it's not just some message board stuff when you start talking thousands of dollars. Somehow though, this person found me just by my profile on this site. Brandon didn't give it to him either. I think the person might have used the Association of Former Students to link my Ag tag to "FriscoKid".

I want to be crystal clear though. I don't think TexAgs knew about it or had anything to do with it. And, I'm only guessing on the link to AFS. But, I don't know how else he could have found my cell. Hell, even TexAgs didn't have that at the time.

The cell phone is trivial.... that can be looked up once your identity is known
Your user info should only be known by Texags, right? AFS is only used to verify students, they don't keep track of a Texags database... So whoever contacted you was either a fake, or got your info from Texags....

I thought it was a prank too. Who wouldn't. But, The caller ID matched an assistant on campus and I later got a text from the person I think is an a hole that abused his position. I called the number in the directory and the same one that was on my phone and she was expecting to hear from me.
My lawyer called the TAMU lawyers. This was no prank call.
Like I said though, I really don't want to fight them again. I'd love to talk openly about it but it's a can of worms and why bother at the point. But, my feeling it that he is an a-hole that abused his power.
That sucks. Doesn't surprise me someone cowered behind the TAMU system

Frisco (and others wondering): during the AgTag verification process we send the Associationn only two pieces of info, an AggieID and an email address. If those two things match a donor in their db, they send us four things: IsCurrrentOrFormerStudent, ClassYear, IsDonor (true/false), ZipCode.
That's how it works. We don't send them any information that allows one to connect a verification back to an account here. There's an email address sent, but no indication as to the TexAgs account that email address is attached to.
Is it possible that the person looking for you was able to glean enough info from your posting history to start asking people IRL if they knew you? It might not be what you want to hear, but I'm afraid that's the most likely scenario.
No, he couldn't figure out who I was IRL by my posting history. He's not that smart.
