I'm picturing the refs calling a game like the tu Norte Dame game where a kid's football career was put to an end based upon a play that was not penalized.

Smart money says Bama will be coached by Nick Saban or Dabo Swinney in 2022 and 2023, and there will be players on the field for those games that weren't yet alive the last time Texas was capable of going toe to toe with a Saban or Swinney coached team.

You're right, there's no telling the future. But this one isn't exactly a giant question mark.

What do we have to do with it? They didn't need us in the SEC to play games in Texas.

They had been doing it before, they'd be doing it anyways.

They will play LSU in a couple of years, they've played other SEC teams, and they've played and will play the who's who around the nation.

They play Southern Cal this coming year, then LSU, LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Ohio State, and Michigan going through to 2027.

They don't need us to get attention, get huge prime time games, "access" to the SEC, etc. They've had no problem whatsoever getting huge non conference games.

Just because it's "scheduled" doesn't mean it'll happen. Series years in advance are often canceled (e.g., Ags vs. Oregon).

Of course not. What top tier blue blood program wouldn't want to schedule them? It gives them the walkover of a McNeese State without having to actually PLAY a McNeese State. Looks better on the resume because tu, to some, still registers as an elite program. It's a no-lose. As long as you're not playing them on the reg.

It was 24-6 at haltime. 37-21 was the final. Losing by 16 doesn't really qualify as "barely" losing. Just saying.
