Looks like the athletic department is adopting a policy of clear bags only into all games. Limiting the size to 12" square. Or a one gallon plastic bag.

No binocular cases included is a bit of a surprise but given the new big screens, I guess they aren't as common anymore.

This should make the ticket gates at the UCLA game lots of fun. I will go out on a limb and say things will not be faster for the first game.

They are adopting the NFL policy. I have 0 problem with it but taking kids cap in may be difficult. The flask in my pocket will not be affected.

the NFL policy works best at places like Jerryworld and NRG because of the ability to close the roof and have climate control. In an open stadium where it could rain or be excessively hot or cold...everyone will have to carry all their stuff thru the gate in their hands I suppose.

can folks still bring in seat cushions?

So a terrorist is less likely to get a gun into the stadium with clear bags? Not buying it. Not as long as high school drop outs are checking people's bags on the way in and there are no metal detectors/body scans. If you can still sneak a flask in, you can still get a gun in. This policy is not about safety it's about selling concessions.

No problem with it, won't stop someone from doing something dumb but it decreases the chances of something bad happening.

Complaining about the gate and wait time is silly. Everyone wanted a 100,000+ seat monster, just part of the game.

Yay for more security theater. Meanwhile, if anyone actually wanted to cause any harm, they'd open fire or detonate in the huge lines that will be created by this new policy.

But hey, at least a few sheep get a false sense of security.
