Florida plays Florida State
Georgia plays Georgia Tech
South Carolina plays Clemson
Florida plays Miami (I think this is getting started again)
Kentucky plays Louisville
BYU plays Utah
New Mexico plays New Mexico State
All of these teams play "rivals" from other conferences and it doesn't seem to hurt them. No reason this game shouldn't be played again.

That is the reason most of us despise t.u. and refuse to schedule them.
Now that they are in the bed of crap they created, let them sleep in it.
quote:Well, thats your opinion on the matter. Not a very valid argument than just because you think so. No facts to back up your statement very well, other than you THINK it should be your way.
what does "not needing to play them" even mean. That has nothing to do with it. The fact is the two biggest schools and most storied programs in the state of Texas should be playing one another every year regardless of the sport or conference. Politics, money, "need to", "want to", shouldn't and don't matter. It's the right thing to do and it needs to be done. Sports are entertainment and any time these two schools play it's entertaining.

Winning the rivalry game makes for a great year. 1-11 with a beating of t.u. is a good year in my book

College football is about rivalries. It isn't about riding the coat tails of the SEC to mediocrity. We have a history of 100+ years of this rivalry and the culture of A&M was shaped by it. It is time to renew the heart of A&M football culture and bring back the rivalry.

No, no no, never, never, no no no, never.
Those clowns can go fill their openings with directional schools. Nostalgia isn't a good enough reason to play them.
quote:Not with the sips its not. I see the whole "play them" crowd is back out in force clamoring to play the sips again because of their personal identity issues that live and die by comparison to them.
Fair is when we consistently beat them very badly and win a National Championship. Then and only then will the media jump on our band wagon.
Respect is earned on the field of play!

What none of them seem to notice is that the media and the sips never respected you for winning that game and never will. You play them again (any time in the remotely near future) and you're giving them a very easy avenue to pin you right back down under their thumb as "little brother." Winning that game 20 times in a row does not control the narrative. Not playing is the only thing that controls the narrative.
Remember that the sips were and are bad business partners. They destroyed two conferences (and they're about to put a knife in the dying corpse of the BDF). They ruined storied rivalries because of their constant need for a slanted playing field in their favor. Retrospectively, we laugh at OU for volunteering to get in bed with the sips and stay in it. We left for greener pastures when we had the chance. Lets stay in the green pastures.
