I know someone that is close with his wife.
I assure you, college station is not a job he'd turn down.

Lol, not about to get in a pissing contest on who knows someone close to the hermans. All I can say is that he's had his sights on one particular school for a long time, and it's not A&M.
However, if he did come to A&M, get ready to win championships.

I'm not making any predictions here, but I think people underestimate how comfortable a friend like Fertitta can make his life, above and beyond the salary. And he gets to live in an actual city. Not everyone is drawn to the magisterial charm of Rock Prairie Road or Traditions golf course or fine dining at "nice restaurants" full of frat kids and retirees.

I think you have something here. Fertitta is the only negotiator when it comes to Herman's salary. That authority was given to him last Fall. Fertitta has also set up Herman for Mardi Gras events (with Pitbull) as well as Mother's Day at the San Luis. Not saying this stuff doesn't happen at other schools or these benefits are big time...but it doesn't hurt. Herman also retaining his entire coaching staff (except 1) tells me something too.

With Tilman Fertitta being the President of Board of Regents, he and other rich UH donors can easily pickup the tab Houston to afford paying 5 million when they are already paying 3 million.
UH is already paying Herman 3 million when they only paid Sumlin 700k. UH students voted to help fun their new stadium so I would not assume they cannot when everything says they can. What really concerns me is the under the table influence and power that Fertitta gives Herman with him and his wife being given keys to the city, attending every big charity event gala with JJ Watt in Houston as if he's a celebrity and UH us suddenly relevant.
Now Cougar High have the #1 TU Alumnus, Red Mccombs lobbying for the University of Houston.

Houston needs to be stopped!

I researched it and turns out Cougar High does have some pull in their market.maybe rating were just a passing interest given hey were relevant for first time in 30 years.
If look at the Houston area TV ratings for 2015. The University of Houston vs Florida State was the highest rated game, higher than the national championship. 3 other Houston games vs top 25 opponents were in the top 10 including Navy, Memphis, and Temple. 4 of 10 top rated games involved Houston.

quote:Why are you on OB and BON pretending to be a Longhorn and on here pretending to be an Aggie? I would guess that makes you look foolish as well. What is your infatuation with Houston anyway? Did you apply and get rejected?
Houston Coach Tom Herman received his Masters degree at TU.
How difficult is it to look up simple facts before you post false statements and look foolish.

Johnny on paper was one of the smartest QB's in the league. IQ isn't nearly as important when you have a job dealing with constant PR.
