UCLA fans are not going to miss Mazzone much?

I've heard that Mazzone was a meh recruiter from UCLA fans. No idea how true or untrue this is.

If he feels a player doesn't fit his system and may be additional drama than what is necessary, then not targeting that recruit makes sense. If he did that with Tate, then I applaud him getting what he needs rather than what would look nice.

I think we're to the point that the buck stops in the HC office. That is not a finger-pointing comment. It's not a negative comment on Sumlin or his staff. It's just the current reality. I can't tell you if that is one year, two years, or more. And to a great extent I'm not exercised in any way about any of that.

The school, the president, the new AD, and the TMF have collaborated together to give Sumlin the support he needs to succeed. The donors to the TMF undoubtedly wish to hear great reports on how we're turning a corner and I'm fairly confident we're going to get a lot of insight into how well things are going over the next twelve months.

I hope to be able to believe them rather than my lying eyes...

How many more times do we have to read about how well ran the Aggie football program is before we begin considering the problem is at the top...

If he didn't want Martel, no problem.

But Mazzone or someone at A&M should have made that clear and not let what happened happen.

For the sake of other QB recruits that are interested in A&M, too, that want to know who else is coming to A&M.

There isn't a single QB recruit on scholarship that has taken a snap at UCLA (Mora recruited Rosen personally, Hundley was a Neuheisel recruit) his recruits have either transferred (Woulard, Millweard) or got converted to WR (Sharp, Fuller)

He took UCLA from #72 to #24 in his first year

He isn't wrong. Mora had a personal connection which helped land Rosen and Hundley was recruited by Neuhiesel.

That being said, I don't have an opinion one way or another on Mazzone's ability to recruit.

Neither do I. I even made that fairly explicit. It might've just been bad timing. I mean between Hundley and Rosen, not many recruits are gonna be better or more talented.

Based off what they said, it could be true. Idk. Ill wait and see. I don't have a negative opinion of Mazzone. Seems like a cool dude.

Yes, I had seen that they were valid statements about Mazzone prior to submitting the link to reddit's cfb board. Perhaps I should use MLA format too next time and get public statements from Mora and Rosen! I have no issues with Mazzone. Again, I said I don't know whether they're true or not - him being a bad recruiter, but you're making this really personal and that's kind of sad for a 30 or 40 year old guy.

Every #1: I don't think anyone said it about every player... not even every player in the '17 class... it was really only said about 2-3 specific players in this situation... along with a few others in the recent past, most of which had one common theme... they were all big supporters / recruited by spav.

Every #2: I don't think anyone has called Myles Garret an entitled millennial... infact, out of all the 4/5* players still on the roster (roughly estimating 20?) ... I would guess two have been accused by the zoo as having considered entitlement issues.

So I guess 10% = every in the mind of a millennial.
