The problem with texags is they let anybody say anything regardless of how dumb it is.

McGee has always had that old school fire in his belly. Love that kid. He would run through Ditka on a 4th and 2. Maybe even 8 tiny Ditkas. He was always that determined and played every snap like that.

Amen Stephen .
Texas A&M is bigger than ANY player or coach. Texas A&M University is more than just the football team. The team has the privilege of being representatives of a great institution.
None of the current players, nor any of those who are being recruited, are more important than A&M. That even applies to those who have come through before like Von or Johnny or Dat, or any other Aggie great.
Things are a mess. Hopefully it gets straightened out. All of this SUCKS!
Regardless, I will still support the Aggies. I support the track team. I support the FTAB. I support the Fish Drill team. And all the others. They are Aggies.
The fans deserve better. Texas A&M University deserves better.
Right the ship. Still expecting a bowl win and things getting better next season. Somehow.

Yes !! Regardless of who it is.

And as far as "toughness", the guy would absolutely bail out of the pocket at the faintest whiff of pressure. So he may have been tough as nails, but the guys nerves were shot. I still have flashbacks of him running backwards and to the right to get away from non-existent pressure.

Eh, this is an exaggeration . McGee was a athletic pocket passer who Fran in his infinite wisdom turned into a triple option runner. I remember him getting 35 carries against Nebraska one year. He was never going to be a Tommy Frazier but did the best he could in a brainless scheme.

I will always remember Fran coming to his senses and letting McGee sling it in the Texas game in 2007. He threw for 360 yards and 3 TDs in that victory.

This would be akin to Sumlin firing Spav et al and a new OC coming in and Kyle Allen lighting it up just before the whole staff got fired. So many "what could have been" question marks came out of that game.

I agree with what he's saying, but I just don't view it as the players rejecting A&M as much as them rejecting Sumlin. That's the part for which I don't blame them. I wouldn't put my faith or trust in him, either, and you have to in order to put on the maroon and white.
If this is the case, the team needs a player leader to step forth and bring the team together and work together as a TEAM in spite of the politics. McGee was that leader in his day.

Aggies don't quit. We must have some non-Aggies on our football team. Let them go.

I agree that we need more leadership from the players, particularly the upper classmen. A lack of player development probably hurts that. It seems that every year our best players are freshmen and sophomores.

To me, it all goes back to Sumlin.

I also agree that McGee was a great leader, and for a coach that a lot of players didn't believe in, McGee included. That's pretty rare. It's nice when you have a player like that, but that's an awfully high standard. The opinion of many is that McGee sacrificed his future by playing in Fran's offense. I'm grateful for his contributions, but I don't blame others for being unwilling to do that.

Agree with McGee, but when you have three QBs leave in less than a year, the problem is obvious.

Problem one is too many good quarterbacks committed which is not really a problem. The solution should be red shirting and dragging out time here, but problem 2 is every HS star thinks they should start as a freshman.

They should point to Ryan Tannehill.

Means a lot coming from a guy who spun it with the best of them in high school then sacrificed using one of his tools to run Fran's ground focused O. What a beating he took.

Loved seeing the baseball players and guys like McGee let the young players know....you need to earn it and put your team 1st.

Yeah, saw him break school records, beat t.u. on their field by pure will, and punched his ticket to a few cups of coffee in the NFL.

Real "below average"

And let's be honest, Kyler was all drama before he even started here. He's living on his dad's legacy and expecting to be treated like a prima donna. IMO, we would be better off had he left rather than KA but given what we have I think we're still better off without him. The kid strikes me as a TO-type of locker room cancer.

I completely agree with McGee.

Don't beg this spoiled brat to stay here.

Only communication I would have with him would be to tell him he's suspended from the bowl game for missing practice. That's a TEAM rule.
