Sumlin leaving would not cause such a meltdown.

There is no "while he can"

He's guaranteed $1.7million for EACH of the 2016 and 2017 seasons

He is in absolutely ZERO danger of losing his job and a paycheck

He seems like a good hire right now, but there's not a lot of difference between him and Sumlin at that stage of their careers.

There is a rumor on Numbers that sumlin has been lobbying for NFL jobs. The timing makes sense if that is his ultimate goal. Although, I'm not sure if the meltdown would be epic since there are a ton of people that would be ok with him moving on.
