LMAO that so many of you clowns believer this Rojo guy.
Premiums can't accept that somone other than Looch might have some inside info.
quote:He's not dead, he's spry enough to coach and he's willing to coach. If Sumlin wants him on our sidelines then it's a possibility.
Not buying it - Spurrier is 70 yrs old.
quote:Sumlin is more loyal to his career and A&M than he is one coach. If not, he better be.
If Sumlin is loyal to Spav (which I believe) then what Rojo says makes sense. Spav will leave and the announcement should follow shortly thereafter, but I'm sure there has been a deadline set. Spurrier will need to get into the facilities and assist with the recruitment process.

Why does everyone want spurrier? This isn't mid 90's Spurrier and his offenses lately have been, well, offensive and not very good. I know he's a legend, but can't we do better?

quote:I get the sense that being head coach means dealing with too many other things to have any real influence over what's going on in your offense. That's why head coaches have coordinators.

On a side note, after lots of research I figured out Rojo's identity. Overall ridiculous and a waste of time to do I know but eh I was curious.

quote:quote:This is my own personal opinion: I think the delay is that no one wants Spavital, that Spavital isn't open to a demotion back to QB coach even though it includes the opportunity to be mentored by two of the greatest OC minds (Sumlin and Spurrier), and that Sumlin is giving him more time to find a place to roost.quote:Delays usually signal a deal is not done. Is that the case here?
There is a delay in naming Steve Spurrier as the new OC. But, other than that, everything is still a go. My friends in low places do not know the reason for the delay -- only that it is a delay, and Spurrier will be announced in a timely manner.
Again, this is my personal opinion. Very well could be wrong. As I posted -- my friends in low places do not know the reason for the delay.
The important point is that Spurrier is the new OC.
quote:sumlin's mentoring hasn't been worth a crap in this case and is a big part of the reason i have lost confidence he will ultimately get it done here. for him not to intervene in that ole miss game or do anything afterward is unconscionable.quote:This is my own personal opinion: I think the delay is that no one wants Spavital, that Spavital isn't open to a demotion back to QB coach even though it includes the opportunity to be mentored by two of the greatest OC minds (Sumlin and Spurrier), and that Sumlin is giving him more time to find a place to roost.quote:Delays usually signal a deal is not done. quote:i read an interview from a year or two ago during which Spurrier said he feels better now than he did at 40. He works out every day (and I mean weights). The question is: how is his mind?
