I have a lot of fond memories of games I saw at G. Rollie White, and I am DELIGHTED to see it being destroyed.

So I called the athletic dept. and spoke to Gwen re: the brick auctions. Nothing to report at this time.

She did say her husband is a mason and typically when they do this type of tear down brick preservation is not a priority.

Yes. Reed is coming down along with Jolly Rollie.

Why is water being sprayed up there? Trying to minimize dust? Perhaps asbestos?

I don't think it is coming down until after the last home game this season. Could be wrong.

From the time I spent over there today, it was clear to me that they are not trying to save any bricks. I am planning on talking to a construction worker some time soon and having him grab a few bricks for me to pass along to others. I haven't figured out how I'm going to decide how to distribute the bricks, because I'm definitely not going to grab one for each texags user who wants one. However, I would love to get a few to some people who this building was extra special to

asbestos has already been abated.

Can I get some of the asbestos as a keep-sake?

Oh the memories. Sonny Parker, Shelby (chasing me out of practices), lots of classes, and graduation.

I remember waiting for 0800 Volleyball class to start at Reed on September 11, 2001 when the kids with cell phones informed us of the news.

I played allot of racquetball back in the day with James Keeter, Brad Brown, Steve Riff, Tim Biediger. Every Saturday morning, headache or not, we were there. Good days and good times. WHERE'S MY WAYBACK MACHINE???
