And if he was given special access to a VIP area of a club, and admitted into an over 21 club that you or I couldn't get into at 20, that is an extra benefit. All you people excusing his behavior are so enamored with him you aren't looking big picture. There's a school in Austin who sure as hell will be pressuring the NCAA to look into every little thing he does, and don't think they won't.

Just stay away from anything that the NCAA would care about, Johnny. Other than that, live it up.

As far as I'm concerned, he was using the Dom Bottle for a spit cup. Or, maybe the blonde told him to grab it so she could show him a trick.

When was the last time the NCAA suspended a player for underage drinking? Seriously, the most damning part of this story is that he is in a VIP area of a club. The bottle of Dom is small potatoes compared to a charge of "Improper Benefits."

JStew appears to be in some of the photos on Deadspin and it is reported that his dad was there, so if he is there then this sounds like no harm no foul from a legal standpoint.

And if, as is reported, his dad was there what the **** can the NCAA possibly do? He wasn't breaking any laws and VIP membership at a Dallas nightclub is hardly some big deal.

Half of nightclubs are "VIP" these days and by the end of the night half of the people hanging out there are far from VIPs. Anyone thinking this is some improper benefit has clearly not set foot in one in the past 15 years if ever.

I don't mind him drinking underage even though it is against the law.

But if he wants to win multiple heismans and more awards, and be considered the best to ever play college ball, like I want for him, he needs to win over the voters, and stuff like this will not work in his favor. I don't even have a problem with him smoking pot, but I don't want to see it make the news.

This is why Sumlin didn't let Freshman talk to the media. And I'm sure he's going to grab his attention again.
