Somebody please post the pic of the modern version and let's do this! I have never been a fan of changing our helmets, but to wear this for one game as a throwback would be awesome! Looks great!

Yes, they were leather, but they had a design and someone posted on another thread that design on a modern helmet. Awesome!

It's badass for sure, but we'd get a lot of *****for copying Michigan, even if it's a throwback of our own stuff. Everyone knows that design (despite the missing stripes) is Michigan's trademark.

The white crown needs to be dialed back and rounded without the sharp corners to give better proportion like in the original 39 version and the current Michigan helmet. Photoshop the changes and I think we would have something.

Interesting article on the old leather helmets. Wonder what the results would have been had they tested leather on leather.

My late father-in-law played 14years in the NFL during the leather helmet days, and suffered from Alzheimers. Many of the older players I've met are very concerned about the debiliating injuries.
