I watched the clip. I thought it might be a reference to our football season "going up in flames" or something like that. But after watching the clip I'm leaning towards a bonfire joke. It probably went down like this in the writers meeting:
"Ok tosh so your wearing burnt orange this episode?"
"Yea planning on it, whats a joke we can tell against their rivals?"
"Ummmmmmmm didnt A&M have a bonfire collapse?"
"OH YEA! That's perfect since this week we have a video of some dude on fire."
Texags is garbage

I thought it was a jab at our second half performances.

Who cares? It wasn't funny, didn't make sense, no one laughed, and Tosh is sucking up to the t-sips just like everyone else does. Probably hoping to get an ESPY hosting job in the near future.

I just don't see anything funny about it. Forgive me if I can't find the comedy in the collapse of bonfire which killed 11 students and 1 former student. Those days were the darkest days this university has ever gone thru...yes time heals all wounds but that does not mean I'm gonna start making fun and laughing about it

Worse than WWI, WWII, Vietnam etc? I bet a lot of people would disagree. And like mentioned before, if you have laughed at anything ever such as cancer, aids, etc, you have laughed at something responsible for many, many more deaths than bonfire.

Did you watch the show? He had numerous insults at them and the LHN. I love how people just spew bs left and right on here and claim everyone in the world is against Texas A&M.

Logic being used on TexAgs? Of course not!

I have not seen it yet but FWIW, Tosh offends everyone sooner or later. I'm a fan of his and wondered when he would get around to a subject that would hit too close to home to be funny to me. I'm still a fan though. I hate the PC laden world. But I hope that's his last bonfire joke attempt.

I wish that he would have been wearing A&M gear and making jokes about Aggies instead. At least it would make us seem more relevant. About the jokes made on the show, it is called humor. People on texags get so sensitive sometimes.

This confirms my thoughts all along! After all this time, I could never decide if Daniel Tosh was gay or not. But now it is obvious! Why else would he openly wear tu gear??

Yes, he did horns down to leave the show.

I can't decide if it was a bonfire joke or not, the joke tanked and he moved on rather quickly. But come on, he's funny, though shock value. Watch and it's only a matter of time. I remember watching his first stand up on Netflix and there being a point that pissed me off... can't remember the topic for the life of me, now.

Same sort of thing happened with t-shirt hell, I love their shirts, and remember how pissed off I was when they released one that said something to the effect of "When the 3,000th troop is killed, I get a free toaster." (FYI that shirt did NOT last long). But if you drop in to Tosh.0, t-shirt hell, South Park or WHATEVER to get your laughs from over-the-line humor, chances are that sooner or later you'll get offended. Just how it works.

Is there anything wrong with a bonfire joke? I think joking about bonfire is no different than joking about Yell Leaders or any other tradition.

However, a joke about the bonfire collapse is a different story. Bonfire collapse jokes aren't funny period, but wouldn't keep Tosh away from them. He's the kind of guy that likes to poke fun at tragedy. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it isn't.

If this was a bonfire joke, no big deal because the joke was not about the collapse.

It didn't even make sense as a Bonfire joke. Bonfire wasn't on fire when it collapsed. I'm thinking a writer stuck it in there and he just read it without having a real idea of what it meant. He certainly didn't try to sell the joke at all and just ran it into the next one.

I watched the repeat last night - IMHO alot of folks are just over-thinking it here - A dude accidentally set him self on fire (and a bystander) and thus he/they became a "bonfire" - Texas A&M has a bonfire ergo "someone call Texas A&M" or whatever he exactly said - There was no inference to the bonfire collapse or even a dumping on Aggies - just making a slight joke about what constitutes a bonfire. It would be akin to a joke about someone call Oregon about a missing mascot if there was a clip of duck hunting accident.
