Study hard, Take the test efficiently, record the game, watch the second half live when you get back...and review the first half to watch if it is worthy.

I've pulled off the "record the game while remaining ignorant of the score" trick a number of times. Being able to FF through commercials, you may even catch up and be drinking beer with your buddies before it ends.

Many classes have tests outside class time. Mostly freshman classes and/or common exams.

I missed bonfire freshman year because of a physics exam and missed the Sweet 16 game against Memphis because of a calculus exam.

I have heard of profs scheduling test outside of normal class time because they don't want to waste class time, thank God I have never had this happen. It does seem unfair since that is not the time you signed up for.

I have a friend who has a night exam for a day class this year on Bonfire night... I believe the exam starts at 6... which kinda sucks since that is when people start heading out to Bonfire

Had a test the night Acie hit "the shot" against Texas and didn't even see it live on TV. Only basketball game I missed that year.

From TAMU's class schedule. Looks like this test has been scheduled for a while. A real football fan would of noticed this in advance and change their schedule before the semester started.

Just study up on your eigen values and eigen vectors, inhomogenous differential equation solutions and you'll be fine.

You forgot the option of taking the test and listening to the game via Dave and an earpiece. Your prof will think the confused look on your face is due to the difficulty of the exam.

Get a good friend to listen to the game on the radio at max volume outside the window.

True, you still won't know what's happening, but it's better than nothing.

Didn't read the whole thread so this has probably been mentioned. Just go to Beutel and make some **** up and get an excuse. Its pretty easy

You can always speed on purpose and get caught by cops, its a good excuse, sure its a 200+ dollars ticket, but you have a legit excuse, LOL.

That's quite a few exams for one class, you can afford to fail one.

I had several tests that were held outside of class time when I was a freshman.

A few years ago I had a lab that met on Thursdays (I think) and it meant I'd have to miss a lot of basketball games. The TA let us watch them on a live stream on the computer + projector in the classroom.

as a former TA, if you approached me ahead of time (the sooner the better) and explained the situation, I would have no trouble letting you take the exam the day before/earlier that day. I've had to do this for various work things/job fairs/social events and all my profs were accomodating, but I gave them several weeks' notice.

The class is not thursday night. It is TR 8:00 and T 5:30-7:20. I did not sign up for it, I was forced in.

I'm with you, Coolerguy. In fact, I'm in that same class with you. In fact, yesterday we both counted the number of times that the professor mumbled "right?" (I think the final count was in the 300s for a 2 hour class).

I'm really tempted to talk to the head of the department, just to see if there's anything we can do about it. Honestly, there should be some way for this thing to be offered at a different time, especially for such extenuating circumstances as a Fightin' Texas Aggie football game.

odds are you'll be home pretty close to kickoff if the test is 6-8. You really need all 2 hours? Game kicks off at 7.

Even if you're 30 minutes later, by fastforwarding commericals and halftime will catch you up to real time by the second half.

Tell you idiot roomates to f&Sk off and go watch at a sports bar for the first half. spot them 30 bucks for a few pitchers there. it actually is a inconvenience to them so 30 bucks is fair.

I'm teaching at another university, and the latest thing is to make students take exams for online classes during set times on campus. Unfortunately, they set the times during other classes. It's a huge problem for me to have students out taking exams for other classes two or three times a semester.

GAWD. I have a Math 152 exam then too...

Since he already knows that the game is that night, it'll be very hard to come up with an excuse that he will buy. Is there any chance of taking the test early? Say, the day before? If not, you may just have to suck it up and miss the first half (or watch the game recorded).

Aggie football should trump academics. Seriously. Football is the only reason I wanted to go to college. Your prof should be reprimanded by the department. Really pisses me off that they would do this. Just another way what was great about the school has died.

aggie athletics says 6:30 but if kickoff really is at 7 that would be awesome. Its a two question test so I should be able to finish by then
