If FIU was any indication, I'd actually prefer taking a test to watching us play at OSU.

With my solution you don't have to fake illness or anything. You walk up to the front and say, I crapped my pants. Then stick your finger in it pull it out smell it and show him. I bet he will let you go. If not, at least you tried.

I can understand now changing the test date (no matter what you believe, there are students who would b*tch up and down about this) and engineering does those massive group tests so I assume there is a lot of building classroom scheduling involved.

That said, the dude didn't have to be a d-bag about it.

Most professors I had would always let me take a test earlier than scheduled. I just had to ask.

Bomb Threat

I remember my freshman year someone posted fliers all over Heldenfels stating that there would be a bomb placed in the building on that particular day....turns out there was a HUGE math test that like 10 or so classes would be taking...

Consider the Options of skipping:

1. You skip test and the Aggies win and the hype machine begins for the Arkansas game. You are a part of this. Nevertheless, flunk test and maybe class; not good option to skip test.

2. You skip test and the Aggies get outscored. Your pissed, feeling guilty, flunking a class, probably go get drunk. No good.

3. Compromise, study super hard and ace the test in 15 minutes then haul ass to Northgate to watche the game. Best option.

No offense to the professor types who post here (who probably should all be excluded from this), but there is, and always has been, a very virulent strain of ******baggery present in academe. It just seems to run with the territory.

We had class the morning bonfire fell. Doubt anyone paid attention. Guy was like, "well, stuff happens but we have to move on."

Prof in my next class that day was like, "why the **** are you guys even here?"

I had a couple classes at A&M that scheduled tests at night, regardless of what time the actual class was held.

One of my profs gave us off on Fridays when the Ags had out of town games in case anyone was traveling.

Hubby had a prof give a test on Elephant Walk (and it was a senior level course). Just take the test and record the game.

If you really want bad....I had a test scheduled on September 11, 2001. Needless to say, I didn't participate. The professor didn't allow anyone to make it up either. Half of us failed it.

Are you really saying the prof scheduled an exam outside of normal class time? I've never heard of that and find it hard to believe that's accepted practice. If that's what happened, then talk to the dept. head or dean and complain that you signed up for a class because it's scheduled time doesn't interfere with your other commitments and that this change of schedule interferes with those commitments. You shouldn't have to tell them what specifically your commitment is (football!).

1991, A&M/TCU Thursday night 7pm kickoff on ESPN.....SAME story. I have an animal science lab and the TA is a turd and won't reschedule the class for us. I had tickets to the game and would have been able to see "THE HIT" live, unfortunately I went to class, passed, and eventually became a doctor. Looking back, I wish I had gone to the game, but I was not missing a test!

haha but seriously in my 4 years, I've been able to reason with ALL of my professors. One time I even went to california for a week to do stand up comedy. Just brought my books and stuff with me.

Just speak to them nicely and compliment/ask class questions that make you seem like you're genuinely interested in it before requesting anything

The class (MEEN 363 Dynamics and vibrations) is not schedualed to meet Thursday nights. It's not even a common exam. The prof just doesnt want to waste "precious" class time to take a test. I might add that he was gone all of last week. I think I will go with the idea of study hard, finish quick, get home. If I did happen to feel a slight fever Thursday morning, the quack shack is always available.
