I've been on TRT for over a decade

If I may ask, what was your experience?

Any side effects?

I've been taking a pretty hefty dose of testosterone cypionate (600mg/week, 300mg on Mondays, 300mg on Thursdays) since December 2023. I've dropped a ton of fat. I've went from 257lbs to a solid 214lbs currently. I also take 1mg of Arimidex everyday.

Never had more energy, I feel more confident, and I feel like it has changed my outlook on life for the better. I'm in my early 30s and I feel the way I did whenever I was 16. I was sleeping 9 hours a night before taking testosterone and still feeling groggy all day, now I'm getting 5-6 hours a night and feel infinitely better.

Side effects: slight hair thinning & testicle shrinkage (I don't plan on having anymore children so I don't really mind my boys not working properly)

Also, if you don't find the correct dosage of an estrogen blocker that works for you, you'll get man boobs.

Damn 1mg every day. My urologist has me at 3 per week but said this is the absolute highest dose he prescribes.

I'm also not doing TRT but Clomid which has my total test at 1314 and free 292 per my last tests. I feel like at these levels I should feel like the hulk but that isn't the case. I feel better than I did prior but not dramatic. My urologist explained to me that for some people after they are on Clomid for a longer period their lab work shows their test levels show normal/high but they don't feel the benefit of it. I need to talk more at my next appt but indicated that I should consider going over to TRT. Not worried about the boys but I don't want to lose hair at least not on my head.....

So you haven't seen any hair loss on clomid?

Not that I can tell... I'm 49 and my barber usually has to use the thinning sheers twice to get my hair under control. Knock on wood!

I started TRT & B12 injections in March (TRT- .25mL twice a week). When I started, my T level was at 434. Last week, had my first round of bloodwork since starting, and T was at 191. Anyone have any idea of what would cause this? Used a "small time" provider and now can't get them to respond to emails/ questions.

Doing 1 ML every 2 weeks, did a mid shot bloodwork (IE 1 week after shot) came back in 897. Takes awhile to get back to normal when you miss some time off because insurance is freaking stupid.

UGL Testosterone is easy to come by if you find somebody that's reliable (and that uses MCT oil as base)

I get a 10mL vial of 300mg/mL testosterone for $60, it lasts me about 10 weeks, depending on if I'm running 300mg/week or 600mg/week.
My username checks out.

Random, maybe silly question...

I had gotten my testosterone levels checked a couple of months ago and they were in the "normal" range - I can't remember the exact number, but when I looked it up it wasn't borderline low or anything. 37 y/o male for reference.

I got a steroid shot and some oral steroids from the doctor to kick an illness I've had and man, on day 3 I feel like night and day difference in my mood. Just generally happier, more energy, etc.

Is there any correlation here? I have been hesitant to explore TRT because I want to do everything as natural as possible, but after 2 years of lifting heavy, eating right, not drinking, sleeping well, etc., my mood has never approached anything like this.

What does the board think?

You and I are about the same age and it sounds like we have similar lifestyle habits. I've never had issues with low T and get tested annually.

Anecdotally, my doc gave me a steroid shot( 2 mg of dexamethasone combined with 20 mg of Methylprednisolone) last fall because of allergies/sinuses and I felt like a million bucks for a week or two. I never got my testosterone tested after the shot but it was normal before. I chalked it up to the effect of the steroid.

My dad and I agree that steroid shots should be weekly occurrences just like vitamins. They're amazing.

Is TRT or Clomid still advisable if using creatine?

They don't really affect each other negatively. Both are great

Any TRT friendly docs in BCS? I had one but he closed his practice and went to Houston. Using a subscription service now.

I had my first visit at synergenx, popped low, but I am not interested in weekly appointments for injections. Is there someplace in NE houston I can do my bloodwork, then do the in injections myself at home?

You looked into the pellets? Might be more expensive but only downside I found is having to limit intense exercise for a week or so.

Shots at home 2X per week are the way to go. The upper thigh is painless and I rarely even bleed at all. I'm in Georgia, so no recommendation on a doc.

No correlation at all. Corticosteroids are completely different from testosterone. Increased energy and insomnia are common side effects of corticosteroids.

You should avoid getting corticosteroids more than 3x a year as it will suppress your adrenal gland making your natural ones that are necessary to live. Don't play with corticosteroids they are powerful but potentially dangerous medications.

I'm not hating at all, but this is not TRT. This is a small to medium dosage steroid dosage. Good for you if it works, but others reading this should know. Anything over 250 to 300mg per week is a cycle. Not TRT.

amazing that people pay 150 a month for injections. I did pellets and that wasn't good for me. i do injections myself 2x week for 15bucks for 3mo supply due to my insurance. Has to be doctors that do it, they just don't make money off of it and never push it.

I tried the dissolvable pills and those sucked.

Call a urologist in your area and setup an appt. Not sure exactly where you are but there's quite a few in Tomball btw. The weekly injections are a racket.
