4/23: 229.8
4/30: ??? - batteries in scale died
5/7: ??? - vaccine aftershock hit me like a sledgehammer
6/14: 232.8

Still going the wrong way (though very slowly). Continue to walk the dog four or more miles a day and do OTF once a week; added some weight training before bedtime a few days a week. Just dumbbells, but I was missing it, plus I like seeing my traps after shrugs and lateral raises. Weight gain is almost certainly due to continued overconsumption, primarily of bad carbs. Problem is that they taste so good.

Cut the extraneous carbs and maybe bump OTF to twice a week and I should get back on track.

Late to the party. Jumping on this board/thread as an extra layer of accountability.

Currently: 255lbs (-10lbs for the year already - only recently started working out again ~month)
Goal: 225lbs
Job: Shipping/Logistics - Used to be very active climbing around on ships, not so much anymore in new role working from home primarily.
Reason: Improve overall health and maintain a weight/lifestyle before I get too old and it becomes that much harder. Increase energy for keeping up with 2 and 4 year old, set a good example for them.
Habits to kick: Significantly reduce alcohol intake and cigars. Limit crappy meals.

Felt great to get back to "normal" this week after battling allergies/sickness towards the end of last week. I knew that 203.7 number was probably a little off. Took it kind of easy in the gym but concentrated on nutrition. Upped the protein a little bit. Goal at the beginning of all this was under 200 by June 1st. Got 16 days to make it happen. Time to lock in and finish strong. Have a great weekend everyone and keep up the good work!

Better late than never:

Current: 205
Goal by June 30: 185
Goal by November 1: 165

Mix of lifting 3x/week, HIIT 3x/week, Cardio 5x/week
Eating primarily meat, veggies, eggs and whole wheat carbs
Not drinking for 40 days beginning January 3, limit alcohol intake to 2x/month.

Checking in here four months later. As of today I'm 195 but hit a roadblock two weeks ago after having a lactic acidosis episode and lower abdominal muscle strains from overtraining. Limiting my diet from 2,200 calories a day to 1,800 calories a day until I can begin lifting again around Memorial Day. Absolutely sucks wind to have to halt the process but it's teaching me self control.

Have had all of 8 alcoholic drinks since January 3. Eating strictly chicken, fish, eggs, veggies and whole wheat carbs while drinking only water, unsweet tea and black coffee during this recovery month.

Prior to the injury, I was lifting 4x/week, running 3x/week and doing abs 2x/week making tremendous progress and putting on lean muscle.

Running - still on pace - over 26 miles last week.

Weight - had a little bit of a celebratory last week. 5/6 was the day I had circled for a while in terms of what I was getting ready for. Gave myself a little bit of a reprieve last week, after being more strict before that. Back to the grind now.

Been very consistent going to the gym and lifting. Definitely getting bigger and stronger. A lot of people I see for the first time in a while are asking me if I've been hitting the gym.

Going to get a treadmill for the office and start doing some HIIT a few times a week. Want to shift the focus to dropping fat. I'll still go to the gym but really slow down my progress and on some lifts stop trying to go higher and maintain.

I'm sort of in your shoes at this point. For most of my workout days I've been a weight lifter, not so much cardio or endurance training. My goals now are certainly different that they were when I was in my 20's / early 30's. This time around (I've lifted / worked out on and off due to injuries.... and laziness...) I've promised myself all "heavy lifting" (what I really enjoy doing) will be put on hold until weight loss goals are met. Trying to build a more sustainable and healthy workout regimen / lifestyle.

I turn 40 in about 18 months and am working toward slowly progressing toward those targets. But on a few lifts I'm working with weight that's heavy enough and don't really want to go heavier.

Starting weight at Dec 28 2020
201.8 lbs

Current weight
173.6

Original goal weight
175 lbs

End of week 20
Down 27.9 lbs

Original goal weight achieved right as baby boy #2 arrived a few weeks ago. I haven't worked out since we got home with the baby but I've been doing everything in my power to still track calories and eat relatively healthy.

I'm thinking I'll just start lifting heavier with a few supplements when I start back up again. I'm way leaner but there's still belly fat. T hard part is figuring out when to transition trying to gain muscle after going through months of HIIT type exercises and weight/fat loss.

I'm in.

Currently: 325 (was 395 a year ago)
Goal: 225 (At 6'2" probably should be lower, but I can't wrap my head around a smaller number)
Age: 38 (oof!)
Job: Bean Counter (CPA)
Reason: Definitely want to feel better and continue to improve my health. Looking better naked would be a positive also haha...

December was rough, I was down as low as 310 at one point. Need to get back on track with physical activity and such.
After getting as high as 340 (started traveling for work again and fell off) I posted last week I was at 335 and as of today I'm back to 326 so basically neutral from where I started. Hopefully continuing down next week. Small changes in diet and avoiding sweets makes a big difference when you're this overweight.

I am 6'3" tall and weighed 280 in September 2020 and today I weigh in at 240. I've gone from wearing Wranglers with 42 waists to Wranglers with 38 waists, and I need a new belt!

I walk 2.4 miles every day and do light weights (for now); beginning May 31 I plan on walking 2x a day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays over the next 3 months (June-July August)

I've been on Nutri systems since October 2020 and I eat the meals Monday - Friday but allow myself to eat out on weekends. I've cut out all Dr. Pepper and Cokes and only drink water, tea, and milk.

I hope to lose another 15 pounds by August 31 to be down at 225, and then I have shoulder surgery planned so I'll be off my feet for a few weeks.

Continuing with a HIIT program that I started a couple of months ago that seems to be working. Haven't really lost weight yet, but plan to reduce body fat % more. Need to track better using that Withings scale I got earlier this year.
After topping out at 186.6 on March 20th, I'm down to 174.5. Not as impressive as many of you, but still pretty happy going into summer.

Not gonna lie. I fell victim to some really good Italian and Mexican food last week. Weight held steady. May not go under 200 until after June 1 but happy where I am at, and glad I can throw in these cheat meals and not see any big changes on the scale.

I reached my ultimate stretch goal of 199 early last week. Got down to 197 on Wednesday. Then went to Mobile for a long weekend full of seafood with crawfish, etc and woke up this morning at 202. Ugghhhh..

Those are definitely frustrating moments but if you keep at it you will eventually get to the lower 190s and that way even after a bad stretch you likely won't clear that 200. Good luck!!

Not to my goal weight yet, but I've started to think about if I'll stay or go lower once I reach 130. I assume that at 130 there will still be weight that can be lost, I'm a fairly small woman. But I also want something sustainable.

How have y'all figured out what you can maintain?

Only down about three lbs since I rogered up for this thread. However, I am also strength training at the same time and getting those sweet beginner gains after losing them all over 2020. So not really winning on the scale but the mirror test has been extremely positive. Think I am going to tone it done though and focus more on the weight loss.

After all those years of fighting to maintain that runner body.....turns out I am far more predisposed to being a weight lifting meathead instead.

Wow, forgot I had joined this thread. Look at me here, all happy and confident...

Absolute nightmare of a semester. Damn near total burnout. I hit my first overnighter second day of the second week. Every single bad living habit that could be done, I basically did. I finished my last final and slept nearly 24 hrs straight. Then went on a pizza and beer binge for like ten days.

Compound it all together and I went over 210 by a coupla pounds. That was a wakeup call for me. I have bounced from 190 to 210 for over a decade now. Get close to 190 then life attacks and balloon close to 210 where I would panic and focus again. Rinse and repeat. But I never crossed 210. Until now.

So...back at it. Got a lot of damage to repair in both numbers and habits. Resetting goal of 190. Just as I had never broke. 210 until now, I also never broke 190. So that is my goal.

Weight this morning was 210.8

Heading into a beach weekend, so it'll be time to buckle back down next week! Until then let the beverages flow and the food orgy commence!

Seems like I only manage to check in once a month or so. Will try to get better.

Current weight: 210.2 pounds (-6.8 from initial weigh in)

After some injury struggles, I am realistically not going to hit my initial goal of 1000 miles this year. Will try to hit 750 (which would still be a record for me) instead, so need to average 20 mile weeks through the end of the year.

Mileage: 164.7/750

Running - May was tight, but got it done. Got a good start so far in June with back to back 5 mile runs. June through October is always the toughest for me - summer heat and then football season leads to less time for running. Hopefully my 100 mile streak keeps me motivated to wake up early.

Weight - dropped a little bit in May, but then gained it back on a little bit of a plateau. Currently on day 2 of a water fast to see if I can break through.

Now that our neighborhood pool is open for the summer, i have started swimming some 'lazy laps' as schedule allows. Typically an hours worth, which is about 15 full laps (30 lengths) of easy freestyle. This is added to the daily 12.5 miles on the bike - gotta say im feelin good, and thats with not being SUPER strict on the diet, but still eating well (with some alcohol here and there)

That being said, its date night sans kids tonight with Texmex on the horizon!

I guess I'm allowed to jump in?

Started in beginning of April at 6'1" and 208 lbs. I was 188 this morning on the scale. Have been doing low/no carb and exercising 4-5 times a week. My exercising is body weight and dumbbell exercises (push-ups, curls, shoulder press, abs, squats, pull ups) and running 2.5-3 miles.

My goal is to get to 180 and reevaluate from there. I'd like to lose all my belly fat and build muscle, especially in my upper body. I got tired of being embarrassed to take my shirt off.
