I was really bad on my diet last weekend after my Friday morning weigh in causing a weight increase by Monday morning. Thankfully I was able to turn it around and have another loss this week.

Also, I was able to run a full 5K without stopping to walk this morning. Overall time was abysmal, but you gotta start somewhere!

End: visible abs or 160, whichever comes first. I've been under 160 a couple years back but had less muscle mass than I do now.
This requires a really fine tuned diet, and hunger toleration. You can get fit without being super cut, but I'm not getting any younger and would like to see some hint of defined abs for the first time in 20 years. Not going to sacrifice my fitness level to get there though, not worth it.

Long term goal is to be fit and lean and build muscle up to 165 or so, but adding muscle mass (without chemical shortcuts that many resort to) in your mid 40's is a very slow and targeted process.

Been using WW and really focusing on zero point foods which are lean proteins, veggies, whole wheat carbs. I not only feel great and don't feel like I'm dieting, but i feel like I know what to do when I stop WW.

Only down about three lbs since I rogered up for this thread. However, I am also strength training at the same time and getting those sweet beginner gains after losing them all over 2020. So not really winning on the scale but the mirror test has been extremely positive. Think I am going to tone it done though and focus more on the weight loss.

After all those years of fighting to maintain that runner body.....turns out I am far more predisposed to being a weight lifting meathead instead.

Moved into the new house this weekend. And my shoulder is a lot better. Ready to get back into a routine. Started this morning with a chest workout.

Looking forward to hopefully some quick progress to get some momentum going.

Probably half of that was bloat. Still shooting for 180 by the end of the month.

Don't think I'll hit my goal of 180 by Sunday but hopefully can knock off a couple more pounds. Definitely feeling less flabby than I did at the start of the year.

Got COVID last week, no loss of appetite and have been eating regularly to fuel. Loss of taste and smell happened last couple days, so i guess i might as well just eat healthy since i cant taste anything. Sucks having birthday this week but looks like all splurges wont happen until i can fully enjoy them anyways.

but how are you feeling?

I haven't noticed any significant weight loss, but I feel better, and my body is 'tighter' so the results will show on the scale at some point - just can't get discouraged as long as you are feeling good/better.

Update!

I'm a 209 now. Finally.

I stopped snacking after dinner and going to bed earlier. Gym almost every day and starting to become addicted.

Just working on drinking less now.

Feeling better on the road. Haven't ran 100 miles in a month since last August/September, so big plus there

I'm not eating well, which is the problem - At least I know what it is.

Reason: just ready to feel better, stay healthy for my kids and family.
How: I joined an F45 gym close to me about 8 months ago. It's a great gym and I'm becoming highly motivated. I've even gotten back into eating healthy as well as adding supplements into my diet & watching Macros.
I've even become an ambassador for fnx fitness supplements because they have really helped me and taste/work great.

Starting to really pass the mirror test as well this week which has been nice to see. Also improved my 1-mile, 2-mile, and 5K time this week. Hopefully I don't over do it on the running but it's working wonders.

I recommend the Renpho scales (found on Amazon for $29) They sync with your phone and give you BMI, fat percentage, etc and show you a graph with progress.

Weight loss plateaued a bit but I wasn't as serious with the diet as I should've been. Hoping to get to 205 by mid-March based on the pace I am on.

Cutting way back on alcohol has been big but need to really tighten down on the diet to get there. Running 2-3 times per week but still haven't added in resistance training yet.
