I've done a good job of being pretty moderate. I am going every day, but my focus is limited. In the past I've tried to go too hard and progress too fast.

Typically I do 9-12 working sets, focusing on a single muscle group. Main lifts advancing a steady pace of 5 lbs a week until I hit some benchmarks and then will taper down the progress.

Simple stuff. Bench press, deadlift, chin ups, overhead press, and squat.

3/26/21: 229.7 - I think it's been two decades since I've been under 230. I'd like to hit 220 by end of summer, which I think is reasonable.

First time I've gained weight by my weekly Friday weigh-in. Last two weeks I've had tons of stressors on my diet both from work and social/personal sides of things. But I'm trying to be true to this thread in an attempt to keep myself honest and post regardless of the results. Hopefully that prevents a 1.6 lb increase from turn into a month of being a bum. Will do a hard re-set this weekend and get things back on track.

Established a morning gym routine at the beginning of March. Working out every morning M-F (run 2x per week, lift 2x per week, and swim 1x per week) Haven't seen any weight loss this month. Hopefully able to start seeing some more results in April so I don't get discouraged and lose interest. Probably need to mix in some long distance runs away from the gym to really see a difference.

Frustrated at the lack of weight loss. Quick calculations and seems I might be UNDER eating.

Anyone else ever have any issues with not being able to lose when not eating enough?

More likely scenario is that you're under counting.

Are you weighing the food to make sure you're actually having "1 serving"?

When I started doing that, I was shocked to see how little cereal was in a serving, for instance.

You have to add in all the little snacks you have throughout the day.

Trying to estimate calories when eating out at most places in near impossible. I just estimate what I think it might be and add another 30% because they love throwing butter and oil on everything!

It's also possible you've hit a plateau. That would happen to me occasionally when I was dieting. IMF seemed to help more often than not.

Could also be a muscle vs fat thing where you're gaining as much muscle in the gym as any weight loss....but if it's a plateau, my best luck was with a 36 hour water fast to punch through.

true. that's why it's a good idea to take a picture of yourself when weighing-in. Great way to see progress that the scale doesn't show.

Well looking at measurement trends I'm still shedding body fat. Just figure that at some point the number on the scale would start dropping as well.

The idea of maintaining a steady weight due to losing fat and adding muscle only goes so far.

Guess I just need to be patient and keep an eye on it.

Jerky. Of all kinds. I started making my own on the smoker and its really simple and much cheaper than store bought.

Not happening on purpose I assure you.

My key metric is "pure fat loss required for ideal body comp." Basically how much fat mass would have to magically melt away to be at 9% body fat. I know that's not how it works, but it accounts for both sides of the equation -- if I'm adding lean mass that number gets smaller even if my total weight stays the same.

That number has continued to drop pretty consistently even without the overall weight changing much.

Figured overall weight would be down, but probably no need to change course until I start seeing a total lack of progress on weight and body fat percentage.

Some stores sell shredded chicken breast and I like that better than jerky.

Less calorie dense and a little better nutrition.

I actually do this too haha. Kroger has some in their deli section in either small or large containers. Bunch of different seasoning options or plain.

Big drop this week. Have not gotten 3+ in a while. Thats 9.3 down in the month of March. Knocking on the single digit door. Got a cookout to celebrate Easter Sunday but not gonna go too overboard on the eating.

Actually relaxed my diet a little bit in the past week and had a brief upswing, but still slowly going down. I've walked about 475 miles since the start of the year.

Stick with it, this is the hardest part but if you keep at it you'll get there! I know it's discouraging but weight comes off a lot slower at the end.

Keep up with the weight watchers and make sure you are staying as active as possible doing workouts and going for walks, etc

Another week in the books with five gym sessions.

I've now gone to the gym and done my scheduled program 45 days since January 25.

That's every M-F since then except for the Snowmageddon week.

Getting ready for the beach this summer. Shooting for lows that I have not seen since high school.

From college until about 2 years ago I hovered around the 200/190 range. Got down to 180s and have been hanging out there for a few years.

5'10" Male. Started at 179 on March 22, first day of diet/cleanse. Did not start tracking daily until I got my withings scale hence the starting weight of 8 days later.

3/22 - 179
3/30 - 171.5
3/31 - 170.7
4/1 - 170.3
4/2 - 169.7
4/3 - 170.4 ***weekend snacking messed me up
4/4 - 169.4

4/6 - 170.2 ***honestly not 100% sure what happened here

Goal is to get down in the 160 - 165 range. This is all based on diet. Will then maintain a similar but slightly less restrictice diet and work more on muscle build.

Diet gives up alcohol for 30 days and is very restrictive on carbs (only a few healthy ones to limit 'shock' when go back to a slightly more normal diet).
