In my power zone rides, the targeted power zone is no longer highlighted

Rumor is they are trying to figure out how to add the "sweet spot" zone and that's why it's gone.

Seems like a solution in need of a problem.

Looks like the zone highlights are back.

The program I follow starts on Monday and the first ride is a german ride...So gonna need the highlights since I don't know german.

They're going to make a fortune on this from people who don't know about better. I'm on my second pair of road pedals in 18 years right now

Agree. This is BS, false planned obsolescence. My wife and I together have likely put 12k+ miles on our Peloton and still with original pedals.

I just got the Row, anyone have one?

I'm still learning proper form and definitely need to figure out how to push myself. The first few workouts I hardly got my heartrate up.

I've had a Bike+ for about 18 months now. The people came to my house and they set it up and everything. But the handlebars are loose and are quite "squeaky" if I put my hands on the outside. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it. I have tried tightening the screws, but nothing really changes. This may be a moot point since we are moving in a month. So I guess the better question would be: Has anyone moved houses with a Peloton and have any advice on how to do so safely?

Anyone in the DFW area interested in a used Bike+? I'm relocating to Sydney and it's cheaper to just sell my current one here and buy a new one down there.

Us too. Are you going to stop riding until you get the new seat? We've only had ours for a month and I'm in a groove.

Curious as to what the supposed failure looked like and found this in a reddit discussion which aligns with some other sources I read speculating chance of bad welds.

Real shame Peloton is taking such a PR beating over stupid parents, and now a few sweaty users that, I'm assuming, are pushing the design limits of more than just the seat post.

Rejoice! Now just waiting for the email so I can order a Tread+. They have to be itching to begin off loading all that stock they have in their warehouses.

Peloton, in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is pleased to notify all Peloton Tread+ owners that a new Tread+ Rear Safety Guard will be available late this year

Finally broke 300 on the FTP test today with a 311 over the 20 minutes. Primary target was to be above 300 with a secondary to get to 315 and have a 95% above 300. Should be pretty achievable next time around.

Nice work! Those are huge numbers

We got ours in April. I'd been sedentary for a lonnnnnng time but I'm totally addicted now. I cannot imagine an FTP anywhere near 300. That's awesome!

Power Zone training is the way to go.

I joined a group doing 2-3 month programs + supplement with "z2" training and have seen major increases.

I know nobody knows me or gives a crap but I was mid-way through week 2 of power zone training and broke my fifth metatarsal and I'm devastated. I'll get a follow-up xray in a couple of weeks to see how I'm healing. Won't be able to clip out for a while. Hoping doc says I can velcro in/out of the shoe within a couple of weeks to resume the workouts.

Do you guys know if output correlates with weight at all? I feel like I am getting a good workout in but seem to be always at the bottom of the pack on the leaderboard.

It definitely does. And that matches road riding conditions, but indoor bikes can't account for moving a different amount of weight uphill or against the wind.

Does the bike sense your weight? Or does it use an user input to adjust its calculation?

You can input your weight in your profile, but it doesn't adjust anything on your output.

Given your love of analytics, I'd expect you do Power Zone training. Best way to track fitness is your FTP / Kg over time. Unfortunately there's just no way to normalize outputs for all users in a given ride

Yeah my wife gets mad because she is 115-120 lbs and I can achieve the same total "score" she can with ~50-60% of the time... e.g. she'd probably get 5-6 miles on a 30 min ride and I can do that in 20 min; or I get roughly 215-245 output on a 20 min ride and she'll top out at 120-150 output

My wife quit looking at my outputs after I hit 500 on a 30. She gets pissed off.
AgLiving06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The key metric to normalize is watts/kg.

Do the FTP test and then do that calc. There's tons of charts to give you perspective on where you land. It's rather interesting to gauge your fitness against the norms.

Also keep in mind that, unless everyone has the Bike+, which auto-calibrates its power meter, anyone riding the Bike may have wildly different output readings from you for the same actual power

People's bike power calibrations are all over the place, a fact Peloton likes to hide. It's why I never compare myself to the overall public, but settle 10 minutes into a ride and then try and beat the people around me at that time. For all I know, the #1 rider on the leaderboard is a 90 year old grandma who has a badly calibrated Bike.

Also very true. I did a ride at a hotel last weekend, and the bike was badly out of whack. Probably the first time it had ever been used.

When I got home I compared my bike to some normal calibration charts, and I was pretty much dead on for the original Bike. But the hotel version - not a Bike+ - was at about a 25% heavier calibration.

I was 1.25 zones before my normal levels in the ride and felt like I was going to die.

I noticed this as well when I used a Peloton at a hotel.

Did not realize the Bike+ auto calibrates itself.

I think that I will just focus on improving relative to my own Power Zones rather than paying attention to leaderboard outputs from here on.

Easy for you to say. I've been on rides at the same time as you...

Did a ride this morning and got a beta alert for streaming shows during your workout. Didn't try it….but another positive feature, imo.
