Is that the hashtag for here?

I'll add it to the list. I'm primarily doing the #RedditPZ rides, but good to have that when I finish.

I think there is a sizable group of us from here using #Texags, but there are a ton of folks using #TexasAggies.

I use both; TexasAggies is my primary

Does anyone know how accurate the speed and mileage estimates are? How they actually translate to riding on the road?

They don't really translate. Way too many factors, weight, wind, elevation, etc all come into play when outdoors. I'd say similar effort rides are about 2 mph faster on the peloton for me than outdoors.

45 min power zone max with Wilpers. Probably the hardest ride I've done outside the FTP test.
Set a 45' PR and was top 700 on that one. Felt pretty good about it all things considered. That's a great workout to boost your 5-30s power.

I have no idea what any of this means after "and"

*Set a 45' PR and was top 700 overall on that ride. Felt pretty good about the ride all things considered. That workout is great to boost your 5 second to 30 second power levels (what you can put out for 5 to 30 seconds max).

Gave it a little squeeze yesterday and set a new 45 minute PR. My goal is to get to 800, but inching closer.

I was wondering about the in person live rides as well.

How old are you and how much do you weigh? Those numbers are crazy.

Did a 45 PZE Ride with Wilpers (8/25/21) - all zone 2 if you need a decent recovery ride.

Did that one last week. Agree- nice ride for recovery while still "working".

Mid 30's ~220

I broke this PR yesterday on a CVV ride at 778 output. However in the ride, I was barely in the top 3%.

My current goal is to get to 800. Looking like it's time for another FTP test, which will probably take place the week before the next challenge starts.

Yes! High fived you right at the beginning. I wasn't paying attention and kept waiting on the zone 3 - but glad it wasn't. My legs are pretty sore today from my run yesterday.

He is a peloton instructor announcing that he has been chosen to be on dancing with the stars. I think he was a pro dancer for one of the pop stars before starting at Peloton.

Two questions for yall:

1. My output has improved since I took my last FTP test at the beginning of August. I'm now consistently riding at the top of my zones for most rides. With the program I'm doing, I'm weeks away from testing. Does anybody just manually raise their FTP or just ride as is and adjust after the next test?

2. Had my physical yesterday and I've lost weight (5-8 lbs). I updated my profile to reflect it, but I'm wondering what to expect from my output numbers. In theory, shouldn't weighing less + same resistance/cadence = higher output?

There is no set timeframe in regards to FTP testing. If you are riding at the top of your zones, you need to retest. Just adjusting it manually is ill advised because there is a component of mental toughness that is also pushed during testing.

In regards to your second question, power is what it is. The metric you are looking for is power to weight ratio, and in reality the only metric that really matters. It is a true metric that can be compared amongst your piers. In theory your weight can go down, your FTP can go down, yet your Power/Weight increases.

For example, my p/w is 3.26. My current goal is to get somewhere above 4.0. That is a pretty tall order. I would say Wilpers is probably around 4.0-4.5 and a professional cyclist is somewhere north of 5.0-5.5 (perhaps higher).

My wife is out of her mind excited about this.

And yes, he was a former backup dancer or something so it seems he's got just a slight advantage.

Cody seems like a good dude, but his rides are not for me.

Both Ally and Emma were both dancers at one point too.

I'm not lookin to put off the FTP test..but the plan I'm on has another couple weeks before testing time and we have several more weeks of increasingly intense rides before the de-load for testing.

I've been riding the top of the zone or even at the bottom of the zone above it, so when I do test it should go up. Was just curious if anybody ever tweaked it to avoid that.

PB (334) on 30 min 80s ride with Kendall... that was a tough ride a lot out of the saddle.

I got a best on her Spotify metal ride last week. That was a good challenging ride. All her metal rides are usually really good hard rides. She does tend to act a little goofy in them though.

Did my first PZ Max ride today (Matt's ride on 8/8/19).

It wasn't a bad ride at all. I've really wanted to spend more time working in the higher zones so more time in z5 and z6 are good.

9/9/21 45 PZE ride with CDE is all Zone 2

Cadence fluctuates 80 to 90 by song. Decent playlist.
