Yeah, I didn't see any feature on there that made me want to switch. My wife does a bunch of yoga and strength, butyyuu can do all that through the app.

So we got ours this week, joined the TexAgs group, then did the FTP test and needless to say I am in horrible shape. Can't wait to see the improvement with this thing.

Also, keep in mind that the ride schedules describe the "core" rides. So a 3 ride/week schedule has 3 "core" rides, plus an optional "accelerator" rides and up to two optional "extra credit" rides. So to get full points for your team on a "3 ride" Team, you will have to ride 6 rides per week. But most teams don't take it too seriously, and whatever you are able/willing to ride is fine.

As somebody said, for me it is the structure of knowing what I am going to ride and approximately when that I enjoy about the challenges.

In the middle of my first ever PZ challenge, and I gotta say I'm definitely more invested in the ride-planning aspect of it than anything else.

Likewise. I was fully prepared to just do the 3 days, but I'm already intending to do the accelerator and others.

How does the team thing work? As far as I can tell, I'm not on one.

Good review of the new bike+

Seems like some cool features, but I didn't see anything that made me think, wow I need to spend a healthy sum to upgrade. I'm interested in how the electronic cadence/resistance thing works for stronger cyclists. It seems to me that often times my resistance is quite a bit more than what the instructor calls out. That's not to say I'm an extremely strong cyclist, but I can probably hold my own against the average Joe. What I do like is that Peloton is continually moving the ball forward. If they focus on what they do well and don't get to big outside of their area of expertise they will indeed go far.

Absolutely agree.

Nothing about the new bike was jumping the shark. The swivel screen is going to get the crowd that doesn't want the tread but wants to have easier access to cardio and strength. To your point, nothing made me want to go out and buy the new bike, but only because I can do the cardio and strength on my smart TV because Peloton teamed up with Roku which, as you pointed out, is another example of Peloton moving the ball forward.

Yeah I started off planning on doing just 4 core rides, but now I'm always doing the AR and at least one EC. Good motivation.

I'm still figuring out the teams. I'm in a Facebook group for mine (me and Nitro Powered are on the same challenge team), so that's how I get most of my updates. I signed up as early as I could though

Wish I could. Tomorrow's my off day from the challenge though. Did 2 PZ rides back to back last night so my quads are on fire rn lol.

Have fun! Haven't tried a tabata class yet.

You made the right choice. He ended with 12x20sec sprints. It was rough.

The ending was good but the early part of his ride was too easy. I feel like Ally and Olivia tababtas are much tougher start to finish

My shoes finally came in yesterday so got my first ride on the bike this AM - went easy and did the 20min beginner w/ Alex Toussaint to get a feel for the bike, etc. I'm very excited to keep going.

Work and family stuff have been crazy, so I've really made an effort to be consistent after joining PZP. Thought about taking last night off but did a Dennis PZ workout. That 850 calorie swing between a workout vs having a drink was pretty eye opening.

I needed a change of pace on the bike so I have been doing the boot camp rides. Holy ****. Jess Sims wore me out the other day.

Taking today off, tomorrow is FTP day.

Trying a new strategy for FTP, I'm going to warm up for a bit longer and then start out at my average output goal at high cadence and try to hold it the whole time (adjusting resistance up as the cadence inevitably drops) and then go yolo for the last 3-5 minutes.

That is how I did my last test. Start just above where my previous FTP test avg output was with a cadence around 95-100. Then slowly worked my resistance and output up each 5 mins. Over the course of the test, my cadence dropped to about 80 by the end, but my power was about 25% above where I started by the time I finished. I think I ended up with about a 12% increase in FTP doing it that way.

Its tough but worth it. I did her most recent 45 minute boot camp ride. The beginning intervals on the bike make you think its breezy. Then you hit the weights, then the bike, then the weights. With core mixed in. The last section of weights/core reminded me of some of the stuff Sean T does for beachbody.

I am going out of town this weekend, and I got a late start this week, so I have to cram all 7 rides into 3.5 days.

The last one this morning should have been easy, but the struggle bus was real.

But hey...first place!

Also, this is why I really like the challenges. While that is probably a bit agressive, I feel a sense of accountability to the team. I can definitively say I ride more consistently during the challenge. Helps get me started on the days I really would rather be eating ice cream.

Interested in a Bike+ as I've been working on general health lately and want a weather-proof and motivating workout. Who has a promo/referral code I could use?

One general Peloton question - do they generally update things over time? As an example, I've read that the Bike+ doesn't actually have the auto-follow feature available on live rides and typically not until 3+ days afterward. If they have a history of improving over time, I'd expect that this would change eventually.
Diggity

I'm sure it will get faster, but someone has to go into the ride and add the cues.

I don't anticipate the live rides will get that feature as the teachers aren't always 100% on script. If you'll notice, 10 seconds for some instructors is more like 3 seconds and 15 for others, depending on how ahead or behind they get.

To answer the general question, they do updates quite a bit to improve the experience. Some are more noticeable than others, but I see the software update notification every couple weeks when I start my rides.

My FTP didn't go how I wanted. I need to do more regular PZ rides instead of just PZE rides

what I have been doing on my FTP tests is getting to my older average out of the gate and hold that for the first 7 minutes...Next 5 jump by 10% next 3 jump by another 10%. Over the last part of the workout hold at that level with 30 second sprints then drop down back to the level for a minute then back up

Just ordered a Bike+ with StringerBell's code. Scheduled for earliest possible delivery on November 5th. Any chance this gets bumped up if I call?
