Weighed in at 221.2 lbs this morning, down from 222 lbs last Monday. Although I only lost .8 lbs over the span of this last week, I ate somewhat poorly and only got two light workouts in. I was just happy I didn't gain weight this week, which I was fully expecting when I got on the scale this morning. Especially after having pizza and beer yesterday.

Down 15.4 lbs overall.

Consistency. Surgery to attach torn bicep may throw a wrench in things next week though.

Really happy with maintaining my 205 after only working out 3 times and eating poorly last week.

186.4 today. Goal was to be at 180 by 3/12. Feel like it's attainable, just need to be aggressive over the next week and a half

I'm beyond frustrated. I've cleaned up my diet. Counting calories and working out. I'm starving. No change. It's sad that people tell me I look great, but I don't like what I see when I look in a mirror.

If you're hungry all the time, you're probably doing more harm than good, in my experience. The goal is to feel about 80% full. Work in a little oatmeal or beef jerkey or yogurt or popcorn or something like that before you get to "starving."

Actually my greatest period of weight loss, I actually had a Kit Kat two or three times a week in the afternoon. It has relatively few calories but satisfied that sweet tooth.

I'll second Alias. When I'm doing my best at weight loss I'm never hungry. That's because I'm spacing out my meals better and eating more to my needs. I think I was hungrier throughout the day when I was gaining weight.

Are you doing any meal planning? That is what really has helped me. Not really calorie counting but being more conscious about what I'm eating and when I'm eating certain items. I stay away from fruits and other high sugar items after 4pm. Also, make sure you're getting enough water.

I'm gonna start just weighing in the morning. My nighttime weight is just all over the place. I think it has more to do with his recently I've had a glass as water as anything.
agdaddy04

Yes, this is why weight can be a poor indicator unless you're consistent. I weigh myself every morning right when I wake up after going to the bathroom. I don't get frustrated when it goes up one day because it'll typically go back down the next. Just looking for trends.

188.7 this morning. Down a bit from yesterday, but still above where I have been. Still hanging on to some salt and junk from this weekend, I think.

Weight on Jan 1: 279.8
Feb 22: 269.2
Feb 29: 268.8
Goal Weight on May 5: 257

Not as much weight loss as I'd like it to be, but it's still moving down which I'm happy about. Like a lot of other people, I had a bad food week, but what's even harder is that I have a work trip this week and then a short vacation planned the next, so I need to figure out how to eat healthy, even when on the road! Any tips are welcomed!

Been out of the weight game for a while since I was doing nothing due to injury. I actually hit my goal Saturday when I weighed in after a marathon, but I'm not going to count that.

I was at 188.2 this morning.

Thanks Alias and agdaddy for replying.

I'm meal planning. I cook my own meals and I rarely ever go out to eat. I'm eating around 1800 calories a day and splitting it out to 50% carbs, 25% fat and 25% protein. I have breakfast, lunch and dinner plus two snacks so I'm eating every few hours. I'm working out 3-4 days a week plus my job requires me to be on my feet all day. I've incorporated a protein drink after my workouts to see if that would make a difference. I'm not sure on what else I can do. I drink water, rarely add salt to things and I have plenty of fruits and vegetables. I feel like my body is fighting me.

What I did a few years ago was go to a professional nutritionist. Unfortunately I applied it for a few months and then ballooned back up as we moved to Houston and had a baby. Now getting back into it I'm just having to remember what I learned and grab my note books. My issue was by body reacts poorly to high sodium intake. Currently I've lost over 30 lbs but am still at 232 with hopes of getting down below 200. You're not having to be as aggressive as me but my caloric intake is more like 1300-1400 per day spaced out over 5 meals and working out 30 mins per day, at least 5 days per week.

*** 2.29 Weigh in ***

Here is the weekly weigh in. As a group, we lost another 38 pounds, bringing our total to 624.5 pounds, or almost 14 full 45 pound plates from the gym.

3 posters are now over 10% body weight lost, and 16 of us are more than halfway to our goal. Keep it up guys. I believe next week will officially mark the halfway point in the challenge.

Like always, I have hidden posters who have not weighed in for the past two weeks, but I still have their data saved and can easily pull them back in.

*** If you are reading this thread and want to jump in, send me your data and I will include it. This is not a strict competition and there are no rules you need to follow. It's just a way to keep ourselves accountable to someone other than ourselves.

Make sure your calorie counts are accurate. If you're not losing weight, you're still not burning more than you take in. There's no magic about it, it's a simple math equation. Overestimate your calories and underestimate your workouts. 1800 may be too many kcals as well. I'm a 6'2", 32 year old male, fairly active (6-10 hours of exercise per week) and I eat around 1900-2000 kcals a day if I want to shed a pound per week.

189.4 this morning. Highest weight in 3+ weeks for no reason. Didn't cheat or eat too late. Only thing I can figure is maybe the modest portion of chicken spaghetti I had last night was REALLY salty and I didn't realize.

I've dieted enough to know not to sweat these blips, but damn it is frustrating.

I've now spent three straight days below 180.

Looks like I'm definitely going to meet my mini-goal of being below 181 on Saturday. Also looks like I will meet my PLUS goal of being below 180 by Saturday. Meaning when I see my in-laws at this party, if they comment about my weight loss I can say "I've lost over 20 pounds since New Years."

I've been bad the last couple weeks and haven't checked in. Layoffs and going away happy hours are a terrible time to try and lose weight and ironically a very important time to stay healthy. I'm holding at 259 currently, about 8 lbs behind my goal, but no need to add me to this week. I'll do an official check in next week.

This is most likely my problem and I am trying to adjust this week. I think I need to lay off the coffee, creamer, and sugar substitute (and of course sugar). I think that has been hurting my progress - that plus weekends that have equated to too many calories consumed. One month to go - time to tighten things up even more than I thought I'd have to.

Overcoming last weeks first "up" weigh in. Hitting new lows each of the last 3 days. 217.3. I'm excited to see the number at the end of the week.

Need 215-216 to be halfway to 199 from 232.5. I will be close. I was feeling ahead of my 199 5/2 goal but now I'm Feeling just on track. I know I can push if I need to as I'm not yet exercising in a meaningful way.

The waist change is more impressive than the weight. At the belly button, 47" to 42". Comfortably in 38" and 36 buttons. I should be into those in another 5lbs - 10lbs.

I was into 34" in the 190-195 range. I haven't seen the under side of 200 since 2002 and I'm very determined to make it.

Was 187.9 this morning. That's more like it. Think I'll skip the cheat day this weekend for the most part and try to get down below 187 in earnest.

Also really wanted Whataburger but didn't cave. I figure that's worth about 2 hours in the gym.
