How long do you want to ignore this user?
Did W9D2 yesterday and it was the first time through this entire program that I could not do the entire run as designed. I completely lost my rhythm about 15 minutes in (I was slapping the treadmill so hard people were looking at me funny) so I had to stop and walk for 2 minutes to get myself centered again. After that I was able to finish the remaining 15 minutes without much of a problem.

My diet has been horrible this week, so I'm going to attribute it to that. I guess you need these days every now and then to remind you to stay focused.

Honestly I just ran at a normal pace for me. I didn't even think much about it until I looked down at my workout log. I am definitely out of shape but I used to run a lot and have ran some recently so I guess I'm not completely starting fresh.

Completed W4D2, still just as tough as the first one. I almost feel like the walking is making it harder to get in a good rhythm.

W4D2 complete. Knees feeling it again but the endurance is getting better. I'm not breathing as hard, and I'm able to focus better.

Ran my first 5k this morning, with a time of 27:02. I was pretty proud of myself until I saw the 1st place finisher in my group ran it in 22:12. Ha.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Forgot to post yesterday, but W4D3 complete. Ran on the local high school track because my knees were hurting. Man was that boring! However, the knee pain was less severe after jogging on the track, so I'll probably mix it in once a week.

Will start W5 tomorrow, should be fun since I was out of commission most of last week with flu. I might go back and do W4D3 again just to get back into rhythm

Good Job TH...Keep it up.

Ran again this morning and am frustrated because the route that I like to take that has seemed most enjoyable is tough to run with the new time change. About half of it is pitch black with no street lights. It is hard to run when you are worrying about stepping on a branch, pot-hole, roadkill, etc. I might have to go back to the less enjoyable run in the neighborhood.

Last three runs have been a consistent 29:30 run for 3.1 miles. I started a technique someone gave me. Run the first mile at a comfortable pace. Run the second at an increased pace. Then run the 3rd at a comfortable pace. You will find that the first will be a solid pace, the second will be good, close to the first mile pace, and the third will not fall off much. It is a mental game thing.

First race is April 21. Hoping for <29.

I are an graduate! W9D3 done today. I wasn't quite making 5K in the 30 minute timeframe so I decided to push through it for the last day. 3.14 miles in 35:20. Not going to win any races at that speed, but I finished it and it can only get better from here!

Good luck everybody. It's tough, but well worth it!

How long do you want to ignore this user?
W4D3 complete

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Congrats RAB!

My first 5k was 2/23 where I ran a 32:30.

Today, I ran my best time of 28:39. The point is that you will get better...just stick with it. Stick with it and just try and have a solid completed run. After a couple or three weeks start pushing the second mile. Purposely increase your pace on the second. You will start seeing drastic improvement.

Anyhow, congrats!

How long do you want to ignore this user?
W5D2 complete. I feel like i'm running at a comfortable pace, but out of curiosity what kind of times are people in the program running? I'm normally around a 13:00 mile. But that's just based on what the app is telling me. Is that a decent time?
Lily09
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The time may be skewed if you are still doing walking intervals.

Either way, I'd say that is a great time and you will only get better! During my 5k this past weekend, I was averaging about 12.5-13 minutes per mile. I wouldn't be too concerned about time right now. My goal is to continue to run the 3.1 mile distance and I figure that my time will only get better.

My next 5k is scheduled for next Wednesday! Woohoo!

Keep running everyone!

Played softball last night and was able to run to first twice (though I fouled out and popped out).
I also managed to run to a ball to make a play.
Very little pain today. Ready to get back in C25K come Monday. W4D1 to restart.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Finished W6D2 tonight. Should I worry that my pace is about a 14 minute mile? I feel like I can't do it if I go any faster. Should I just work on time right now and not worry about speed?
The Pilot
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yep, don't worry about speed right now. Speed will come with time, better to get in the distance
